Like him or love him, Matt Cutts definitely doesn’t seem to care much about what the SEO community thinks about him or his leadership at Google’s Webspam Team. Cutts’ makes his decisions based on what he/Google think is best for Google and their end-users.
Now whether you choose to view this as, “Dance like no one’s watching,” or, “This guy just doesn’t give a damn,” probably depends on how big an impact Penguin had on your life. In the end, it doesn’t really matter because Cutts isn’t interested in trying to win a popularity contest.
