Know When to Show Your Hand
We mentioned that Google can’t exactly show their hand all the time but they do know the time for secrets and the time for letting it all hang out.
For example, even though updates like Panda and Penguin hit everyone pretty hard, Cutts usually gave a bit of warning before pulling the trigger on them. (Yes, we agree that being a little more specific about things wouldn’t kill the guy.)
Cutts has even walked backwards on his announcement that Google would no longer be announcing big algorithm updates – which is kind of a big deal.
