This “sandbox” think is mention more and more. My new site have been online in around 2 months – All of my hits comes from different sites. Today I noticed for the first time that I have traffic from google.

Does that mean Í´m out of the sandbox?

…I´m not ranked in the toolbar still 0/10!

As of now I am getting around 30 unique views a day. I’ve only had my site for about a month now. My goal is to have at least 200/day by the end of the year.

I can do it!!!!

Jesper, the sandbox may or may not affect you if you have a .de domain. The jury is still out on whether the sandbox is placed on not .com domains and which domains those might be (.co.uk is probably sandboxed too for instance).

The prevailing theory on the sandbox goes something like this.

1) You launch your site and get a link pointing to it
2) Google finds your site and places it in their index
3) After a couple of weeks Google figures out how competitive the keywords are that you are trying to rank for and sandboxes your site for those terms (you can still get traffic from non-competitive terms)
4) You wait 6-18 months to be released from the sandbox and rank for the terms you are targeting

Lets just say that I targeted poker, and will target poker as that is what my site is about… Google so far hasn’t been my friend. However does come back like 3 times a day to check my sitemap.xml file, so am trying to keep site updated as often as possible with content. Will tell you how I go.

Yeah what’s that all about why do the robots come so often in one day. The MSN bot has been to my site 87 time so far this month and the google bot has been there 46, none of the others have come so often. What makes them keep coming back so often?

Be happy!

They come looking for new stuff.

Give them just a little bit of it all the time.

I haven’t put a re-visit tag up…

reason:

If I don’t update my content for a period of time then I don’t want the bot to think… hey this guy is messing with me, he is telling me to come back everyday and nothing is updated.

I just leave it open and try to update regularily so that google will want to come on it’s own to find content… then if i haven’t updated then it will still be okay.

Once my forums get active then I will tell the bot to come back everyday

I wish I had help…but I am finding my visitor time spent is very low. My site loads reasonably fast (I think) Is there an amount of KB or a rule of thumb on loading time that I might consider. Could it be loading to slow ….Or is it just that my site stinks? I am getting hits from ABCsearch that prove to be most valuable but nothing from Google. Also quite a bit of hits from Argentina….Mexico ….and Europe….How come ? Help…I need cash Man ! I got to plan for retirement.

I will lower the RSS download, I am not getting that many hits on it.
As for the quick look at the feature and move on, I’m not so sure I agree. I have 300 + pages on my site and they pretty much are all getting hit. Most the click throughs on my site are from the scrolling RSS on top of the site. Whatever I add to the RSS gets the most clicks/signups

Thanks again. appreciate it.
