First of all, I would like to say that you have an amazing looking website with a lot of content and great functionality. 3 small things I noticed.

1. It took a while for the page to load for me.

2. I’m not sure I would mention the RSS feed so high on the website. Most people dont know what they are and this might scare a lot of people away. They’ll wonder what the hell an rss is and think the site is for techies.

3. Instead of the click4cash I would have a featured poker room and why it’s featured. From my experience most people dont care about the a portal that much, they visit the poker room/casino feature and then move on.

My site is only 3 months old and I have 80 uniques a day. However, I am not monetizing them the way I would like. ANy feedback suggestions what I am doing right/wrong w/ my site?

Much Thanks,

Call me a skeptic but I would surmise that some people dont understand the difference between a unique visitor and a pageview :woo-hoo:

To get 1000+ uniques per day you would have to be in the top 5 for a dozen or more “top” terms on a half a dozen or more sites. Either that or youre buying traffic 100000 for $49.99 :tounge2:

Of course those of you that have 250-500+ sites I have no doubt you get that many uniques even with no rankings at all!

I’ll call you a sceptic … I’ll call you wrong.

I only get around 200-300 hits from search engines a day, but average around 3,500 visitors a day .. .and regularly achieve over a million page hits a month now.

Where does it all come from? Valued links with quality sites. Not the exchange with dead pages, but a swapping of traffic from front pages.

90% of my traffic comes from perhaps just 20 good content sites …
:satisfied

Of course – it’s taken 5 years to get there … but the good news is that I never really have to worred about the “google shuffle” or “sandbox” or any such stuff.

Take the time to establish quality links with sites you genuinely like guys and girls, it does pay in the long term.

I agree, I don’t have so much visitors, but when they are coming, I convert them DD (Not all of them of course, but the number of visitors vs. registrations is good.)

Yes, and how much money you make often has nothing at all to do with traffic count.

It has to do with the type of visitor you draw and how well you can presell them.

For my part I’ve what I can consider a ‘low’ traffic count.

But the most intereting part is that this low traffic generates very good money each month. Best to have a ‘few’ high-quality players than 100 bonus abusers each day.

I’ve got months where my unique visitor value was $10+ (revenue / total number of visitors). Get 25,000 of those uniques in a month… (what a shame it never happened to our sites when this player value was so high… :1Dopey: )

Traffic counts in this field really depend on the kind of website you’re running.

I do have a Meta tag telling the robots to come back every 10 days. But some of these bots are coming multiple time a day.

Is the Robot revisit Meta tag a good idea or is it bad or makes no difference. I only put it in there ’cause some site said I should…..

Thanks

Nice post, Paul.

I agree that there is a lot of traffic out there to be had. It helps if you can think outside of the box.
