WSOP Promotion Tips for Gaming Affiliates

Poker's top prize.

It would be hard to invent a better event for poker affiliates to promote than the World Series of Poker  (WSOP). After all, online poker sites can sponsor satellite tournaments and low buy-in player can earn his or her way to poker’s biggest prize…and a few million dollars.

It may sound outlandish outside the poker world, but that’s exactly what happened in 2003 when Chris Moneymaker parlayed a $40 buy-in into $2.3 million. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s one aspect of a very unique event.

Promoting WSOP to Players

Anyone with some cash and a ticket to Las Vegas can qualify for a seat at the winners’ table during the WSOP.  That means that even sites that aren’t involved with satellite tournaments can still get some of the action by giving away small buy-in prizes or Las Vegas stays. It’s a small price to pay for an event players get very excited about.

Poker’s a complex game and that makes it the perfect subject for a huge variety of content. Whether you’re talking strategy, or telling the story of past winners, creating readable WSOP content is a no-brainer.

Affiliate Promotions

Boyle Sports – In the race to come up with the most elaborate satellite tournament prize package, these guys are definitely in the running. Boyle Sports is offering up a $10,000 WSOP buy-in; 7-night stay at the Wynn; and $1750 cash. Not too shabby. CAP partners can receive a 40% revenue share for their first three months (which would cover the WSOP if you signed up right away.)
