#8 – New Jersey vs Pro Sports
Late in the year, New Jersey and the four major professional sports leagues (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB)  fired the first few salvos of what looks to be a protracted legal battle over the future of sports betting in America.
The Garden State hired on the same legal team that successfully fought for the the George Bush presidency back in 2000, so we really like their chances.
Recently, the commissioners of professional sports stated their arguments against legal betting which included such nuanced arguments as, “But gambling is so … the threat of gambling and to create more threat is to me — I’m stunned.”
So they’ve got that going for them.
