Sportradar Signs on as Official Partner of Bowl Season

Sportradar is announcing the completion of a deal with Bowl Season that would designate the sports technology company as one of the organization’s official partners for the 2022-2023 season. It’s another sign that regulated sports betting is here to stay in the United States, and that the very organizations that once lined up to fight sports betting are now lining up to work with operators.

Under the terms of the deal, Sportradar will work with Bowl Season,”as the organization works through how to best enter the sports betting space in a thoughtful and responsible manner, as well as identify ways for Bowl Season to participate in the overall value chain through a variety of commercial opportunities.” In layman’s terms, that means Sportradar is advising Bowl Season on the best ways to work with operators, while using the company’s expertise in compliance and integrity issues to help prevent fraud.

Unlike traditional partnerships in the sports betting space, the Sportradar/Bowl Season will not include splashing the company’s logos across stadiums or a branded sportsbook at game sites. This is a behind-the-scenes partnership that includes a sponsorship of Bowl Season’s annual meeting. Sportradar will also be educating Bowl Season members and participants on compliance and integrity issues at the meeting.

In a statement posted on its official website, Bowl Season Executive Director Nick Carparelli explained the deal saying, “Sportradar’s expertise in creating immersive experiences for sports fans is a perfect fit for Bowl Season. Sportradar will be a great resource to Bowl Season, playing a major role at our Annual Meeting this coming spring and educating our membership on their wide array of services. We’re thrilled to partner with Sportradar and look forward to working with them.”

Bowl Season is the post-season play for college football that includes 44 separate games, the College Football Playoff and the national championship games.
