Betfred inks marketing deal with Colorado Rockies

Betfred is entering a multi-year marketing deal with the Colorado Rockies baseball team that will, among other things, make the company’s logo a part of the game day experience. It’s the third such deal for Betfred in the state and another sign of the rapid normalization of regulated sports betting in the United States.

The deal between Betfred and the Colorado Rockies is pretty standard and crowns the operator as a “Proud Partner of the Colorado Rockies”. That’s technically not a sponsor, but that’s how marketing works. Other components of the deal include “game-day experiences for baseball fans”, such as access to luxury suites, in-game contests, and ticket giveaways.

Bryan Bennett, Chief Operating Officer of Betfred USA Sports explained the deal in a recent statement saying, “Colorado has proven to be a fantastic market for Betfred Sports, and we look forward to further demonstrating our commitment to local fans with this partnership with the Rockies. Along with our sportsbook at Saratoga Casino Black Hawk and our other sports partnerships in the state, Betfred is investing in Colorado for the long haul.”

Betfred occupies a unique spot in the freshly minted Colorado sport betting business as the first operator to open a physical sportsbook in the state. That part of the operation has been up and running at the Saratoga Casino Black Hawk since June 2020.

Walker Monfort, Rockies’ Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, added to the enthusiasm saying, “The Colorado Rockies are always looking to partner with top tier brands and Betfred Sports has established themselves as one of the best in the market. Sports betting has seen incredible growth across the country recently and we are always looking for new and exciting ways to engage with not only our fans but all sports fans throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.”

Colorado’s regulated sports betting market took in just over $1 billion in wagers during its first year.
