How does this site get PR7??

kwblue asked 3 years ago
Hey guys,

Searching out competetion today and noticed a site that has a PR7 in this industry, which seems to be highly irregular. Not only that, but check it out…. NO content!? What?? So, should I NOT create content now? :happydanc

http://www.12spins.com/

It has one link pointing to their main site it looks like.

If anyone has a clue why, please fill me in.. privately if you wish.

Let me redirect the discussion to the question I was really trying to ask (and not being successful at <span title=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” /> )

This site does not appear to be optimized for any keywords. I say this because there is almost no content. And from every ‘SEO Expert’s’ mouth… content is king.

So, with this, I guess it is safe to say that they do not need to do keyword optimization because they are popular and have been around for a while?

They only need a keyword once because of this?

I hope that clears up my question.

Acccording to what has already been said the site does have keywords or content. Pr I believe is not content or keyword based. Who-ever owns this site is very knowledgable. The site relies on inbound links, links pointing to the site. The site owner would have a easy time doing this this because all that is offered is a game. But he also but up a few affiliate links. Anybody can achieve the same thing. Create one page offer a free game and solicite for inbound links and in time you pr would rise depending on who is pointing at your site. I find this approach to achieving high pr very interesting and in theory would work.

Now image if you did the same but did a the page redirect to your page. Think about this for a while because if you want play the pr game this is how you could do it.

I do not think age plays a roll. Imagine say you had a site consisting of one page. The site was for playing, say the game checkers. Now consider if you managed to get the White House to link to that site I can quarantee you pr would be at least pr7 if not greater. greek39

You are correct, in the long run age and popularity rule.

However, you need a path to get there and that is when you worry about SEO so you can grab visitors and become popular.

Very old and popular sites need no SEO, or very little of it.

Greek, the idea of re-directing to another page is risky if Google finds out about it. They don’t like redirects of this nature and will ban sites for it.

KW, to answer your question directly, PR only has to do with inbound links. Keyword optimization has to do with the anchor text of the incoming links and the on-page copy and the way it is arranged. The rest of this discussion is really about the position of this site in the SERPS, which has to do with many factors, PR, inbound links, age of site, etc.

This is what I was looking for! That makes sense. I also noticed that they use .gov search sites to link to theirselves as well which I suspect are their own as well. Seems to me they have been around a long time on the internet in other areas besides gambling and have used that to their advantage.

I agree. And a long list of sites to draw quality links from I think as well.

Alright… I understand.

I know better not to screw around with google. But not to long ago I had 500,000 inbounds coming from one search engine sitepage.nl all were scraping or doing something with my site. So what I finally contacted the owner of this Dutch search engine and explained the problems possible outcomes. I requested he redirect these sites to mine. After days of debate He did. He could not do all of them because of the amount. But now the inbounds average around 20,000 and I got some free traffic to boot. This happened on yahoo only their drunken bot can’t figure this stuff out.
