but as said in this thread before, even people that think that they have “banner blindness” are mostly wrong,
banners affect their way of thinking even if they do not click, in the future they have higher probability to buy the product that the banner is marketing (if the banner did its work properly)
b.t.w there are banners that make big problems, and this is not good for the banner industry.
one example is a banner of Ego in this web site of CAP
did you ever get this error? wonder why it happens? it’s caused by the banner:
I think that this is only temporary and banners are going to come back and big time!
We set basic rules for banners that we design in humansapiens (the “six rules of the banner“) hopefully this will help to fix the banner’s “bad name”
the rules are here: HumanSapiens’ 6 Rules of the banner for maximizing conversions and profitability
This industry needs to rethink and regroup the way it does business.
Kudos for that one Dominique and is very true. The marketing landscape changes daily and we have yet to upgrade to affiliate 5.0 lol.
I can vision a day when websites could be relics of past.
Banners well…I don’t mind them but do prefer the smaller ones. Also there seems big difference between choosing the right banner and the wrong one. Been my experience a simple banner swamp can make all the difference between an impression and conversion.

I often get the message from bookies and casinos, promote us becuase we have great banners!
Banners dont generate clicks at anywhere near the rate good focused calls to actions via text links do. And the few clicks they do generate dont convert anywhere near as well (in my experience – UK sportsbook anyway)
Stop wasting money on these “wonderful banners” and spend it on better offers/reasons to open an account is what I think! Or even better, spend more on retaining the players we send you.
Also affiliates that just chuck up banners and hope for accounts arent the ones affiliate managers wont to focus their time on surely?? But it seems that with many of them, banners are the main focus.
