InactiveExactly why do these people put out FALSE stories? That is what starts the casino operators to panic, all these false stories and half truths, I wish they would not print stories until it is a done deal and not an assumption.
The music on cspan is now killing my buzz :bored:

InactiveWhile that boring guy was talking about immigration didn’t it say underneath that the port security act passed 80-18 or something? I assumed that meant it was done, although I guess as Simon said, they could revote before the session ends.

InactiveOh, here we go — Loretta Sanchez is talking about internet gambling.
September 30, 2006 at 3:48 am #707989Anonymous
InactiveNow don’t get your hopes up, cause I’m not really positive, but something seems to be amiss up there.
1} This is last vote of the session.
2} It’s a bill everyone would quickly vote for if the Gambling Bill wasn’t on it, and as soon as they vote, they get to leave, and go home to campaign.
You’d think they would be busting the doors down to get in there if someone wasn’t blocking the door, right?
Maybe they all left to catch a plane!

InactiveCorrect me if i am wrong, but it seems to me that the HOuse of Reps are upset now because when they passed the port bill it did not have the internet gambling bill pigging backing it, and the senate called and told them tonight that it was getting passed with the gambling bill attached. so now the house is pissed and the senate is pissed. so does that mean they can recall and revote or does this mean that it has to go back to the house to get voted on again because it is not the same bill the voted on??
please help

InactiveGood question! I don’t know.
I saw the House vote the Port bill thru, but I would have assumed everything was in order.Since the House had already passed the gambling bill, and sent it to the Senate weeks ago, I wouldn’t think that it would have to be sent back down to the House just because they are attaching it. I’m not positive either.
Maybe that’s what causing the delay, though.
I hope not, because that would mean they aren’t discussing removing it altogether, but just how to get it back thru the process tonight. :tooconfusSeptember 30, 2006 at 4:00 am #707993Anonymous
InactiveYah she told them!! They are not happy about that gambling bill on there!
