Harrahs is getting ready for the biggest LBO in corporate history. It seems as if the corporate raiders and hedge funds see that the land based casino industry is favoured by the DOJ. Coincidence or active lobbying – should maybe go in the conspiracy theory thread:turn:

Democracy originating in Greece meanning demos (people) krakos (strength). The government should be ruled by the strength of the people. This forged the way to the utililartianism approach to politics, where the majority rules. Although not a perfect system as John Stuart Mill pointed out.

John Stuart Mill’s concern was focussed on the natural rights of the individual. The majority can inflict tyrany on the minority, causing life to be brutish. This concept paved the way for the right to privacy, freedom of speech ect…

Reflecting on this new gambling law it would appear the majority has made our lifes brutish. The founding farthers of the American Constitution very much relied on the information handed down through the centuries.

David Hume, Benthem, John Stuart Mill and of course the first ever Democracy Greece. Greece forged the way to the western civilization.
