WSOP Heads Up Two Decided (Update)

November 10, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — When we left the WSOP final table story earlier today, Scott Montgomery had been eliminated at hand 133 in fifth place, and Ivan Demidov and Peter Eastgate were significantly ahead of Dennis Phillips and Ylon Schwartz in chip counts, with the Russian in the lead by a good $14 million.

We can now report that Ylon Schwartz was the next to go, bundled out at hand 155 in fourth place by Peter Eastgate, and collecting $3,774,974 on the way.

The final elimination of the day was at hand 169 when Peter Eastgate took Dennis Phillips down in third place, clearing the way for a Demidov vs. Eastgate heads up.

The unofficial day-end chip counts as the session wrapped up until 10pm Monday showed Demidov holding a comfortable lead on $79,500,000 with Eastgate on $57,725,000.

Eastgate should have the button when the action picks up again at hand 170. The 22-year-old Eastgate has been playing well and has the additional incentive of knowing that if he wins, he will break Phil Hellmuth's record as the youngest ever WSOP champ.
