Prize picks Partners with San Diego Padres

The San Diego Padres Major League Baseball (MLB) team recently named PrizePicks as its Official Daily Fantasy Sports Partner. It’s a big move for PrizePicks that helps the DFS operators establish a toehold in the massive Golden State market, a market where DFS operates in a very grey legal area.

Under the terms of the deal, PrizePicks will have the opportunity to place its logo and promotions throughout the Padres home field, Petco Park, the Padres home field. This includes LED signage in the outfield, as well as banner displays throughout the rest of the park. Online, PrizePicks will be represented with banner advertising on the Padres.com website, and during the pre-game show on Padres.tv.

Sergio del Prado, Padres Executive Vice President of Business Affairs described the deal in a recent press release saying, “We are excited to partner with PrizePicks to bring Padres fans even closer to the game of baseball. Together, we are creating unique opportunities for fans to follow and connect with the team and are giving them even more reason to celebrate when the Padres score.”

Mike Quigley, Chief Marketing Officer at PrizePicks was similarly enthusiastic adding, “The Padres are one of the most dynamic franchises in Major League Baseball, and we’re proud to be part of their journey. rizePicks players and Padres fans share a deep passion for the game, and we look forward to creating new ways to engage and connect with fans both in San Diego and across the country.”

The Padres, PrizePicks partnership is all the more notable due to the fact that the presence of DFS in the California gaming market is still under debate. Lawmakers and regulators are currently in a vigorous debate about whether or not DFS meets the requirements for a game of skill. Until that final decision is made, however, PrizePicks is free to operate in the Golden State.
