Let’s face it, SEOs have been getting away with some pretty thin content and sketchy links for a very long time and Google isn’t happy about it.
Between Panda and Penguin, garbage links and articles are no longer a viable content marketing strategy.
Adjusting to this new standard isn’t easy, but it’s definitely got some long term value. Google initiatives like AuthorRank are going to up the quality factor even higher so the quality crusade isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Developing quality content and links doesn’t happen overnight but it will happen if you can really commit.
