Kentucky Files Response to iMEGA

June 24, 2009 (CAP Newswire) — Last week, the ongoing battle between the U.S. state of Kentucky and the Internet gambling industry made another move forward, as attorneys for that state filed a response to iMEGA’s motion that the state has no authority to seize 141 online poker domain names.

“The case pits Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet Secretary J. Michael Brown against the Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association (iMEGA),” writes Dan Cypra in the Poker News Daily. According to Cypra, the state’s attorneys filed their response a day after the deadline, claiming that the large number of participants in the case slowed their ability to respond quickly.

The filing of these briefs does not necessarily mean, however, that the Kentucky Supreme Court will take the case. That is still under review.
