Inaugural Women's Poker Academy Event

December 6, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — Female gamblers with a penchant for poker can up their game at Harrah's New Orleans this weekend, where the first free seminar of the Women's Ultimate Poker Academy will he led by poker pro Barbara Enright. The WUPA is the brainchild of Lisa Adams and Lauren Failla, and is a women-only poker training academy taught by professional women poker players.

Participants will benefit from hand-by-hand instruction and individualized attention from the top female pros in the industry, with the instructor roster including other well-respected names like Susie Isaacs, JJ Liu, and Karina Jett, all of whom have impressive experience in the game and winning poker careers.

Enright has three World Series of Poker bracelet wins on her résumé, and career winnings totalling over $1.3 million, while Isaacs has two WSOP bracelets and was twice the winner of the ladies event in the global spectacular series. She recently joined Enright in the Poker Hall of Fame.

"JJ" Liu has a WPT Ladies Night title to her credit and over $1.8 million in tournament paydays during a stellar career to date, and Karin Jett can boast a slew of WSOP cashes and significant winnings from tournaments player around the globe.

Following Enright's inaugural seminar in New Orleans, the next outing for WUPA will be March 6-7 2009 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The cost for the two-day academy there is $1,295, which includes entry into the High Heels Poker Tour event on March 8 at noon at the Hard Rock. Participants will also receive promotional giveaways, prizes and more.
