BetMGM is partnering with the Carnival Corporation to provide casino gaming in as many 50 of the cruise line’s ships. It’s a deal that expands BetMGM’s footprint to international waters at a time when US operators are already enjoying the fruits of a booming domestic gaming market.
Under the terms of the deal, BetMGM will provide a host of gaming services to guests aboard as many as 50 of the ships in the Carnival fleet on the Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Princess Cruises brands. That includes traditional casino gaming products, mobile sports betting, and igaming services. (So cruise guests can enjoy casino gaming and sports betting without having to leave their cabins or deck chairs.)
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt lauded the deal in a recent public statement saying, “We’ve found an ideal partner in Carnival Corporation and look forward to providing our sports betting and iGaming products to its millions of passengers. This is another great opportunity for us to further expand BetMGM’s footprint.”
Marty Goldman, SVP Global Casino Operations for Carnival Corporation was similarly enthused adding, “We’re very proud to be able to deliver the excitement and engagement of sports betting and iGaming to our guests through our partnership with BetMGM. Our two leading global hospitality organizations will provide a wide array of immersive digital content as a complement to our exceptional shipboard casinos.”
The roll-out of MGM-branded casino games will take place over the next few months. The deal also includes a marketing partnership and elements of safe gaming to prevent problem gambling.
