Unibet Gets New Online Bingo Platform

Nordic-based Unibet is getting a new online bingo platform via a new agreement with gaming software powerhouse Playtech.

“Playtech has established an exclusive multi-year bingo licensing agreement with gaming operator Unibet which has more than 4.7 million customers in over 100 countries,” reports StockMarketWire.com.

“Under the terms of the agreement, the Company said MariaBingo.com and Bingo.com will also switch to Playtech’s Virtue Fusion network together with Unibet’s other white label sites,” adds TradingMarkets.com.

“This is undoubtedly one of the most significant B2B bingo deals over the past few years,” Playtech’s Chief Executive, Mor Weizer, stated. “The deal reinforces the strength of Playtech’s bingo product and its ability to compete in the European market. We are delighted to be growing our relationship with Unibet and are excited by the cross-selling opportunities that today’s announcement will make possible.”

This is good news for Bingo.com, that Internet bingo pioneer with the perfect domain name, which switched to Unibet’s online bingo platform earlier in 2010.

“Bingo.com’s customers were primarily UK citizens while Unibet’s platform did not cater for British tastes,” explains Gaming Intelligence Group.

This adjustment should help to fix that. “Despite the large drop in revenue, we continue to believe the platform change to the Unibet system to be the correct decision,” Bingo.com CEO Tarrnie Williams has stated.

Playtech’s Virtue Fusion is already home to Ladbrokes, William Hill, Bet365, and Paddy Power — an impressive client list that bodes well for the future of Unibet’s online bingo platform.
