Thanksgiving action as Jets meet Panthers

It is Thanksgiving weekend in America and fans of the NFL are being given a plethora of match-ups to choose from with one of the most heated being the Carolina Panthers visit to the New York Jets.

Although both teams have identical records so far this season of four wins to six losses and sit third in their respective divisions, neither are out of the post-season race and a win this weekend could see the victor move up to second.

As the home team, bookmakers are offering shorter odds on a victory for the Jets on Sunday with BlueSq.com, StanJames.com, ExtraBet.com and 888Sport.com starting things off at 8/15.

Slightly longer, Coral.co.uk has New York at odds of 5/9 to win while VictorChandler.com, BoyleSports.com, ToteSport.com, BetFred.com, BetDaq.com and PaddyPower.com currently show 4/7.

The Jets finished third in its division last season behind the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots and trails this duo again. However, a win this weekend and New York could leapfrog the Floridians into second spot. Betfair.com is offering odds of 29/50 on this eventuality while WilliamHill.com, WBX.com, Bet365.com, Expekt.com and Ladbrokes.com show 10/17.

At the far end of the spectrum, SkyBet.com is offering odds of 8/13 on a victory for Rex Ryan's men in front of their home fans.

The Carolina Panthers topped its division last season and went to the post-season but a slow start to the 2009 campaign saw the Charlotte-based franchise lose its first three games before setting things right with a pair of victories.

Although VictorChandler.com is offering odds of 5/4 on a Panthers victory, this is as good as it gets with BetFred.com, ToteSport.com, BlueSq.com, SkyBet.com, 888Sport.com and Expekt.com going with 8/15.

These two franchises have not faced off against each other for four long years but punters can get odds of 7/15 on a Carolina win from ExtraBet.com while BoyleSports.com is going with 29/20. Similarly, Betfair.com and BetDaq.com show the Panthers at 73/50 followed by PaddyPower.com with 25/17 and Coral.co.uk offering 22/15.

Even longer, WilliamHill.com, Ladbrokes.com, StanJames.com and Bet365.com have the visitors at odds of 6/4 while WBX.com is currently showing 151/100.
