Poker Stars launched the first World Cup of Online Poker (WCOOP), which became their signature event. The first WCOOP and offered up a total prize package of $730,000. This nine event tournament attracted players from across the world. Tournament events included six games spread across nine separate events.
Over 550 players competed in the $109 Limit Texas Hold ‘Em and 238 players competed in the Texas Hold ‘Em Main Event. A Swedish player with the online handle, MultiMarine walked away with the top prize, $65,450.
