On January 1, 2012, 38 operators received a license from the Danish Gambling Authority to offer online gambling services. Some of the biggest names on the list include: PokerStars, 88, Betfair, Bettson, and UniBet.

Due to its newly regulated gambling market, EU Casino is making a major push to establish itself with players from this country. With a three month television advertising deal, it is safe to say that this online casino will have a leg up on the competition.

eCOGRA coming to the Danish Market

eCOGRA is a United Kingdom based organization, well known for its regulatotry knowledge involving both old and newly established markets.

Earlier this month, it was announced that eCOGRA will be allowed to perform regulation and certification services for many Danish licensed online casinos.

Additionally, the organization has been named as the governing body for five certification categories: business functions, gambling functions, prevention of money laundering, change management, and penetration testing.

As the Danish market begins to expand, eCOGRA is expected to play a big role.

While some countries are sitting back, mulling over the future of online gambling, Denmark has moved to the forefront.
