Submitting website to directories

Everything in moderation is ok ,when you go crazy with the submissions then you can get in trouble.My best website in terms of revenue has very few backlinks but the ones it has are from other gambling sites.We may buy 5-10 directory listings per year .Our content budget on this website however is over $40,000 a year.

I completely agree, brilliant statement ” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” /> I’ve learned this lesson the hard way. If you do too many directory submissions, your website may suffer a penalty. Depending on how severe the penalty is, it could take 6 months or 1 year to get your old rankings back. Go for quality instead of quantity, and this also applies for gaining links in general too.

Directories are PART of a balanced Link Portfolio … you need all types of links to really create an Organic looking Link Portfolio

Yes it’s still very helpful. I make sure to submit my websites to newly launched web directoreis every week. Recently I got PR4 for one of my website. I just submitted my website to directories.
