pay per click

rob3786 asked 3 years ago
I was thinking about running a pay per click campaign in google adwords for my site. For roughly $100 a month I can recieve top 3 rankings for keywords such as “top 10 online casinos” “best online casinos” this is with cost per click being set at about $1 a click. Do you thinks its worthwhile to do this will it increase natural listings as well?

Just don’t have any links to online casinos ….. or sites with links to online casinos my friend.

LOL. Sorry to laugh …. but those clicks would be about $55 each otherwise ….

good luck!

I use adwords all the time for my niche retail site. This month it is set at 15 cents per click. So far there have been about 150 clicks, costing about $22. Last month it was set at 12 cents and had 86 clicks. Last March I had 200 clicks when it was set at 20 cents.

The reason I have it set low is the site is already is listed on the first page of Google and also appears on the Google search network like AOL, EARTHLINK, ASK and NYT for my top keyword. You can also have ads appear on Google’s content network. (ie.. sites that have adsense ads)

I also have a poster affiliate site, but stopped adwords because it was way too expensive. However, there are over 479,000 searchs for posters a month in Yahoo alone. Not really sure about Google, I’m sure it is much higher.

$100 a month? Are you assuming you will get 3 clicks a day? You’d have to set a daily budget of $3 a day to guarantee the $100 a month budget. Odds are Google will complain the daily budget is set too low and force you to up it. 10 clicks a day at $1 per click would be roughly $300 a month.

According to the Google keyword tool a phrase or exact match like “best online casinos” would cost about $2.13 per click for an average position of 1-3.

However a phrase or exact match (vs. broad) results in better targeting and cuts down the CPC.

I bet just a text or banner ad targeted at a content site would produce some good results.
