So, I’m on the subject of good old Google!

Is there any advantage (or disadvantage) in re-submitting your sitemap to Google, or is it best to submit it once and leave it be!? (As long as it doesn’t change of course, otherwise you would need to re-submit it again).

Also, another quick and I am sure easy question to answer – Where can I check my official Google PageRank rating on Google itself!? I use Webmaster tools, but must be missing something else.

As always and forever, thanks for your replies and help!!!! :hattip:

Regarding the site map change it when you add new pages is best, there are only advantages, take a close look at the sitemap created as it is quite self explanatory as to how it works and what it’s task is.

as for checking your official google page rank, you can use mypagerank.net has the tools you require for a data centre check.:wink-wink

IMO there is no need to resubmit your site map each time it changes. Google reads your site map often and will take note of any changes.

I only resubmit my site map if Google picked up an error and I wanted to get it corrected ASAP. <span title=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />

Thanks for your replies, that sounds simple enough ;-)

On the subject of PageRank – In the space of a few months since having my portal, I have managed to get a PR of 1 on all pages except from the ‘partners’ pages with the reciprocal links. Any ideas why?

I haven’t wanted to add reciprocal links on any of my other pages because I want a totally clean look, but I’m thinking I may need to start doing so because people don’t want their links placed on PR0 pages!!!

PR is over rated don’t worry about it unless your looking to make money of avertisising on your site which i doubt, as long as the page is google indexed that’s what realy counts not the PR.

I just submitted my site once, and it found a new page I created without resubmitting, so only once needed I think.
