Dropped out of google serps

LandofOz asked 3 years ago
Has anyone else had a site totally drop out of google’s serps very recently? This happened to one of my sites about one hour ago. It’s the strangest thing. Not sure if it’s to do with any current google updates that are taking place, or because I optimised all my meta tags a few days ago, or someone has done something, hmmm… The site is still in the directory and still has a high pr, but not in the serps since about an hour ago. Anyway, if anyone else is experiencing the same thing, please let me know. I wonder what is going on.

This has happened to me, too. It’s frustrating, but eventually the site should reappear in the serps.

I’m going to test this theory one more time. I have a site that is ranking #1 for a certain phrase. I need to remove a casino listing from throughout the entire site. I also need to replace the front page banner of this casino with another casino. I’ll do this within 48 hours and watch what happens. Then I’ll post what happened to the site in the serps for that phrase here.

Dom that could be because you are considered an authority website, the same rules don’t apply to those websites as to the rest of the internet. Wikipedia probably changes every 2 minutes with all of the editors that they have and obviously those pages are going to stick.

I’m also seeing the same thing. If you update a website it drops. I’m trying not to update websites anymore. It’s why it’s important for programs to have offers that dont change and autoupdating banners.

This is strange, will give it a try. I will not update any of my websites and i will see what happens.

I don’t think that’s it.

G&C changes all the time, daily as a matter of fact. The links on the front page change often.

It doesn’t make sense.

It also might have something with putting affiliate links on your site.

I didn’t link to a banned site. I only list casinos on my front pages. These are reputable casinos that 99% of us promote. Link partners have their own internal directory on the site. Anyway, another site that I added the same front page casino link on has also disappeared. This is not a banned casino. It has a pr5. So I guess changing / adding front page links is probably not a good idea if you want to keep your positions steady in the search engines.

I deleted 2 links and added 1 new one. This has never affected me in the past.

Google is changing all the time. I still think, that maybe you linked to banned sites or just got unlucky.
