Do you work with Gambling Wages?

GamTrak asked 3 years ago
I’ve been struggling with how to handle Gambling Wages after seeing the latest events that happened with JTodd’s effort to give them a chance to show they have changed. I was also dissppointed in a reply they made in the private section of another forum that IMO was very rude and disrespectful.

Since 2005 I have many members that like this casino and use the coupons loyaly and seem to not mind any warnings that we post and continue to play. So many of the codes are posted that I had to create threads for them as to not have the entire section filled with GW brands.

Last week I decided to no longer allow any of the GW brands to be posted at the forum, but when I made the suggestion to a few folks they said that I should not just TELL them that they can’t post the coupons any longer, but take a poll and let the majority rule.

I already know that the poll will be to continue to allow the coupons to be posted. My question is being that I’ve not placed my affiliate tag in any of the post for about a year will I be a hypocrite if I start using my affiliate tag now?

What are your thoughts?

I see what you’re saying. It’s pretty much like you run a store and your customers keep coming in asking for cigarettes even though you tell them cigarettes are bad for them.

Sorry, I did make an error. The warning was to a casino posted about another group.

The point is that even though most folks know these sites are rouges they continue to play and post codes. It’s like a cult or something. LOL They look forward to the new monthly codes and I just feel that I should not just take that away, but then I hate seeing them posted at my forum also.

I did assign one member to placing them in one thread and combining as many as possible just so they would be in some sort of order.

Hi GamTrak,

I’m a little confused by your post. You appear to be linking to a post on another forum titled “December Codes for Cirrus, Cirrus UK & Bet Royal/Party City” but the link goes to a post that does not have to do with Gambling Wages. Is that a mistake or am I missing something? Thanks!

Thanks for the words of wisdom guys.

Here is an example of what is going on with a thread that is only a few days old. I don’t have a tag in any of them and we’ve stuck up warnings in that section as well, but nothing has changed except the casino gets free traffic.

Here is one where we actually reply with a warning like we try to always do.

I can bet that each and everyone of them is aware of the reputation and also is a member at casinomeister, but when I look the at number of replies and views of thoes threads it tells me that NO CARES about who is rouge UNLESS they are personally affected. I may be wrong, but that’s how I see it.

I’m getting so frustrated with this industry, but I don’t want to give up just yet.

You are right Paul. I do not want them posted at my site so I have to put an end to it.

I read somewhere that you can prevent URL’s from being posted at a VB or something like that. Do you know anything about it? I do not want to have to hunt these posts down or micro-manage the members so if I can do it automatically then that’s the way to go.

I will just send an email out stating that as of January 2009 I will no longer allow certain brands to be posted at my site once I figure out how to go about do it.

Thanks again for the information. If we are going to clean up the industry we have to start with ourselves first. :hattip:

Another task to add to my horribly long to do list.

Sure … but in the end it is YOUR site, YOUR name, and YOUR players.

IF you honestly beleive that it’s all in the past, and no-one else will get stung, then you would not be having this conversation – and you’d be entitled to promote the sites as you see fit.

But, if you are an advocate of safe play (as I believe is the case) then you need to draw a line in the sand.

Saying “be careful” is not a full and frank warning.

Saying that in the past this casino has reneged on payments to big winners and to business partners and simply refuses to put it right or even discuss the matter is making it clear.

I moderate my forum heavily when it comes to dodgy sites. I’ll allow an initial discussion to be posted, I’ll state that they’re not recommended and not part of our €1000 deposit guarantee. And that WILL be the end of the thread.
:sarcasm:

People wanting to promote offers and bonus codes for them MUST do it elsewhere.

This casino is part of the rebranded Crystal Palace Group. Be very careful when playing.

I can bet that each and everyone of them is aware of the reputation and also is a member at casinomeister, but when I look the at number of replies and views of thoes threads it tells me that NO CARES about who is rouge UNLESS they are personally affected. I may be wrong, but that’s how I see it.

I’m assuming that you’ve followed the story and do not want to work with them any more?
If so then :

It’s pretty simple really. Tell your players the truth.
Tell them about players who have not been paid.
Tell them about contracts not honoured.

Tell them that with this additional news you cannot recommend this place any longer as a SAFE place to play. Remove the links.

1) That will stop new players from joining.
2) That will warn existing players.

If people still continue to there – then THAT is their own fully informed decision.

But underline the fact that you (or anyone else) will be unable to help them recover funds if the casino decides not to pay out – as it HAS be proven to have done in the past.
