I just saw the following picture shared on my friend’s Facebook Page and I totally laughed. But, then I thought… it’s kind of true. A lot of people who would have been considered “Nerds” in the 90’s are today’s Cool Kids & Hipsters. In essence, being a NERD IS COOL?!?

Thought it would be cool to start a little poll. Do you AGREE or DISAGREE- The Nerds of the 90’s are the Hipsters of 2011?

For the record, IMO Urkel will always be straight up Nerdy!

I say once a nerd, always a nerd! While someone might be a lifelong nerd, it seems many of them are running the world these days. Does the name Mark Zuckerberg ring a bell?

Still, the “nerd” fashion style might have made a comeback (or an arrival, I suppose) but that Urkel will never be cool in my book! That didn’t stop me from watching his show back in the day, though!

nerd girls are sexy. nerd girls.. and geek girls. *drool*

there is something magical and majestic about seeing them strut their stuff, whether behind a keyboard or strutting down the street.

I think the idea of being a nerd is changing. A lot of successful and popular people these days would have been considered nerds and uncool 20 years ago. Fashions tend to change, and they come and go. Nerds are becoming more accepted, and they are being more respected for their intelligence and abilities (as opposed to how they dress or act).

Its pretty amazing how trends change. Something that is not accepted now, may be accepted and considered cool in the future (and vice versa).

There needs to be a movie called

“revenge of the jocks”

they fight back, and get laid by the hot hot hot geeky women.

Wow… what a warm group we have going here.

However, I kind of need to disagree with you. I would not have been friends with Steve Urkel. Sorry… couldn’t take it. He’s nerdy-ness is endearing… He was just sooooo annoying. “Did I do that?” In that nasal voice. UGH! No thanks <span title=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />
