$50.00 per click ?

aleph asked 3 years ago
How high can it go ?

Do you see the PPC cost going higher ?

If so, what will it be in a few years time ?

$30 $40 $50 per click ?

or will it come down ?

I would be curious on what others have to say on this.

Now I understand what you are saying.

Destroy the competition by clicking them to death.

That could also explain the low conversion ratios for affected sites. If like Arkyt says, we need 40%+ conversions then maybe in theory it would be possible if the rest of the sites were being clicked to death which would explain my lowly 6-7% conversions.

Now this is a Conspiracy Theory!

I’ve reviewed my own log files and havent seen a large amount of short visits. Wouldnt this be an indication of a click through attack?

Aleph,

Let me try and understand what you are saying about the “banks of computers”.

It would seem to me that this would involve one giant “cracking” of the overture system and then skewing the results. Is this correct? Stealing passwords for porn sites is one things but stealing postions from top bids at Overture would be HUGE. If this was the case, how would Overture not be onto this?

Please let me know if thats what you were thinking or if it was something less dramatic.

There’s definitely something going on here that I cannot fathom. Sorry Aleph, no other insight from me.

Arkyt, the average player worth is plausible in theory, but I can’t imagine anyone acheiving the Per Player Value or Conversion Ratios needed to achieve positive ROI.

Maybe I’m shit at creating sites that convert, but I’ve never seen better than 6-7% conversions on Overture and per player values on my commissions have never exceeded maybe $400 max.

So, there is either some serious stat shaving going on which has lulled affiliates into accepting these numbers, or the big boys are just doing something magical to get the ROI.

The only other consideration is, I’ve never been in the Top 3 for overture so maybe those positions convert much better and land more whales. I can say that on other PPC’s where I have been in the Top 3, they actually didn’t convert for me as well as a number 4 and below positon. Less traffic but more results. I’m assuming this is because those persons clicking on a 4 or below position where more serious and checking things out carefully.

Anyone here able to pull 40% + conversions from Overture? Please tell us your secrets…

Understood.

Why don’t all the casinos go ” direct “

and cut out the middleman … or do you believe this may

happen one day ?
