InactiveThat’s what i have done.
However if all these programs reconsider the retro-active issues, the CORE issue here, (which I’m sceptical about personally), i think it should come with a cover-note saying that they won’t pull the “retroactive” stunt again. Else why trust them not to do it again?
Everyone accepts that a business needs to review its policies once in a while, but by applying negative changes to previously held agreements, you are basivcally saying you can’t be trusted to hold to an agreement.

InactiveI believe trust is the key in this industry which is in all intents and purposes faceless. Therefore Integrity, trust and honesty are valuable commodities for a casino program and indeed casino portals to become and remain successful.
All programs which have introduced these retroactive changes have breached the trust I and others had in them. Remember this is not just about Referback, but concerns all programs that have made similar changes.
I am in the process of removing the portfolio of Referback Casinos from my sites and off my sites they will remain, until the time they decide to do two things. Reverse these new changes and then restore my trust and faith in their program. I feel the second point of action is much harder to achieve than the first.

GuestHi,
folks IMHO if it proves that the programs in question do not change some of the more rediculous terms thus proving they aren’t interested in continuing an affiliate relationship then it is playing right into their hands if all you do is to take down their links. That’s what they want;
we must set precident now by showing we will do more than take down their links, that we will agressively campaign to reverse the respectability and credibility these casinos now enjoy; largely thanks to us I probably need not remind.
we need to stick together on this and not be afraid to break a few eggs in order to create the meal we rightfully deserve – or we’ll all be fighting over crumbs in the all too near future, IMHO.
that’s IF they places refuse to work with us. I still hold out hope for a reasonable and fair ending that was the original goal by at least some of these programs in the first place.

InactiveExcellent post bb1webs – and I am not only breaking them Fn eggs – I am planning to smash them to oblivion!

vladcizsolMemberIt’s easy to break eggs when they are in some one elses basket.
Many of us have long standing relationships with some of these programs that are making TERRIBLEY misguided decisions as of late. We hope we can work those issues out so we can continue to both earn profits together. If we cant come together then I am sure most people WILL re-evaluate their partners.

InactiveWe were nice and overlooked the first breach of contract – which was Referback some time ago with the changing percentage according to new players.
This is now coming back to haunt us because if you let one place do this all will think it’s free game.
I am “breaking eggs”. I am waiting to see who all will join this madness, and I will promote those who remain after the avalanche passes.
I have found that if I do my job right it just doesn’t matter who I promote, I will make money. I will promote those who earn my trust and who are profitable and don’t have clauses that can trip me, such as the 3 month -no new player clause.
It is time to spend time tweaking properties accoring to T&Cs. This is every bit as important as SEO.
I wish I had a complete list of who all is fixing to mess around with T&Cs. It would make it a lot easier to do one sweep.

InactiveDropping the programs isn’t going to do enough, they already have your money so to speak.
Just thinking aload…
Has anyone thought of actually testing the legality of these changes in T&Cs in a court of law? would it be worthwhile for those with the most to loss to group together to bring a case to court and get a ruling?

GuestIt’s easy to break eggs when they are in some one elses basket. I am eager to see what happens when those eggs are yours.
actually I make more at RB (usually) than at CR and have for quite some time. FYI.
Prof I’ve been around quite a long time now too; and with the exception of VP – I usually make money at every program mentioned. Most of this is as you mention, from players I’ve already signed and not from new players. I’ve cut back exposure to most the programs in question here with the exception of RB who I’ve just started to increase exposure with again in the last 6 months or so because they were doing so well for me despite the fact that I had cut back their exposure so much – that I felt they DESERVED the added exposure despite my extreme displeasure with their adding that 20% deal to the terms.
in my eyes, they had endured my showing of my displeasure about that change; and had done it in fine fashion. I fully expected my earnings to drop to nothing. And instead they more than proved (to me) that I could at least trust RB to not be stealing or shaving away my big players because quite frankly they had no incentive left for paying me such amounts as I had already proven both by taking them off/nearly off my sites to the fact that i was very vocal against the change here at cap.
Now once again I face that same situation which is why I’m trying so hard to get RB to be reasonable about all this. I don’t want to have to take them down because despite the occasional “really bad ideas” they come up with about terms – i feel they have proven to me to be a place where I can count on my residual income to be shown and paid; whether or not i am sending traffic. Which is of course, how it should be; because that was the deal I signed up for. However, many other programs IMHO have proven (at least to me) that they cannot be trusted to always show my earnings whether or not I am sending traffic. (edited to add – I wasn’t sure I made myself very clear on this; but like Dom mentioned recently, I too have hopes of retiring someday on what I’ve built up; and that includes what I rightfully should be earning from player bases that I have built up. as I mentioned abov, despite everything that has went on with RB, they proved a lot to me when I stopped sending traffic (and for quite a while, but now I can’t say for sure how long. I think about a year). I mean they really rocked for me – and if anybody thinks they were trying to buy their way back on my sites; it was far more than that and I promise you they’d have given up a long, long time before the time came when i finally started giving them exposure again. This means a ton to me!
As for the other programs, as it has already been mentioned here; they are steadfast in their decision and that forces us to react.
so please don’t think I don’t have a lot at stake here. because sir you are very wrong in that assumption.
ps.
I’d gladly make my stats at RB available to back up what I’m saying, but currently I can’t even find out what I ended up making for july lol.
my stats start at Aug. I don’t know what happened to the rest of the deal, but perhaps its a temp thing.

InactiveIf an agent turns an unknown actor into a major star, he/she is entitled to be compensated financially, which is fair, there would not have been any money, had it not been for the actions of the agent in the 1st place.
If a man marries a woman and becomes a financial success, he is responsible for financially supporting the woman, should they end up getting a divorce. The reason being, that the presence of his wife contributed to his success, regardless of the amount of her involvement.
These are laws of society that most countries follow, a legal contract is binding, and can only be altered if all parties involved agree to the new terms, since this is obviously not the case, any legal action taken will most certainly favor the affiliates.
My 2 cents, bashing them online is definitely a good start, since it was your positive reinforcement that made them a success in the 1st place, new players will always be around, gambling has, and will be around forever, people turn of legal gambling age everyday.
The impact may not be immediate, but will certainly hit them hard in the future.
P.S.

InactiveI have decided to send out this newsletter as there has been a lot of discussion re the changing of terms and conditions on various forums in the last month and I decided that I need to set out what Wager Junction is doing.
I have reverted back to the old Terms and Conditions that state my affiliates will be receiving 35% in Commission.
I have removed the 3-month ruling that stated if you did not deliver an active player for a 3-month period we had the right to close down the account.
I have added to the terms and condition a paragraph that penalizes partners that copy content and sites.
To be frank my changes were very small in comparison to the other programs and were designed to reward the webmasters that promoted me.
I have had a few constructive talks this week with my casino partners and we agree that the voices of our partners must be heard. As the feedback that we have been receiving from our Affiliate partners is overwhelmingly negative we have reverted tot he old T&Cs with a few positive changes.
The changes to the Terms and Conditions have been made and are in place.
If we do make changes in the future we will be making these changes on the basis of the change being made going forward.
I do doubt that any further changes will be made though as my Casino partners are well aware that the pie is big enough for everyone and really do not mind sharing the love as I so often term it in the office.
My sole existence for being here is to look after the needs of my partners and to liase with the Casinos. I think that you will find that this has been done and I have learnt another valuable lesson in the art of Affiliate Management.
Have a great day and if you require anything further please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best Regards

InactiveYes Greg rocks!!!!!! Wager Junction is now officially one of the best programs around, with very friendly, legal T&Cs. They deserve to move up and sit with the good guys! We have two RTG programs now with superior T&Cs, and excellent service to boot. With RTG releasing great new slots and still having the fastest BJ in town, they are becoming very attractive to advertise. Good going!!! Both Greg’s and Jeff’s casinos are treating players well to boot.
And to be fair, Referback did change the retroactive clause, so there is nothing illegal there anymore either. Just the T&Cs are very unattractive now. But it’s not illegal to be unattractive.
Still outside the law are Fortune, Vegas Partners and Partnerlogic.
It feels good to see that list shrink!

InactiveLest I need remind anyone yet again:
Referback implemented a “one player per month” clause some months ago which is STILL RETROACTIVE and STILL IN BREACH – so please stop saying that they are not doing anything illegal. They have been operating in breach for MANY months now.

After I post this, I am going to change their status from “Under Review” to “BLACKLISTED” on my site.

InactiveI recall seeing something about Casino Rewards here yesterday. Was that portion of the thread split to keep the two topics separate or deleted in full?
If Rewards is going to be next things are really going to start getting ugly!

Nope! An over reaction by me based on a rumor that turned out to be totally untrue. In short, I fucked up
I spoke with Ryan yesterday and he assured me they had no changes planned. They ARE one of the good guys and I didnt want them taking flack for my stupidity so I edited my original post and removed a couple of references to it to protect Casino Rewards good reputation.
My Bad. All the recent T&C changes has me too edgy I guess. Sorry :unhappy: :unhappy:
