It was clearly the banks, here’s why.

A seasoned computer software programmer can look at a chunk of code written by a novice and either debug it quickly or write it more efficiently. In another example drive a noisy a to mechanic and they have a generally idea where the problem might be.

When a mortage broker examines financial data they can tell right off the bat what the person can and cannot afford.

Perhaps in your case this may be true but generally:

    A 347k mortage even at 5% for 30 years is about 1862.77 a month.
That would pretty hard to meet on $14 an hour and I doubt many would even qualify.

I am beginning to wonder if my English is as good as I though LMAO
Let me clarify , i bought the $190,000 house and i can afford that on $14 per hour.I had a downpayment and didn’t mortgage $190,000.I am pretty sure I wont be going back to $14 per hour , our cleaning lady makes more than that LOL

As for Iraq , I don’t think anyone wants to pay for that war but your government went in there ,spent the money and cant go back now.

So what does that say about their judgement? Did anyone think this thing thru?

You think they can pull the US economy out of a pending depressing when they are happy to stay in Iraq for 5 or 10 more years? Why are they not being held accountable for spending 10 billion US dollars a month that could be used to help our economy?

A lot of GOP’s see folks that need a helping hand as lazy looking for the government to take care of them and that’s not true. They just want an opportunity for an education and a job that pays enough to take care of thier family.

Some people think Iraq should pay for it or at least rebuild their own.

Yea the people who care about taking of of thier own country above Iraq. The ones that WORK HARD every day to have a decent life feel that way. The peole that were left sitting on thier roofs to DIE in a city surrounded by water becase there is no money to build a secure (if that is possible) levy system?

I would like to see Bush and the vp have to cough up some of their money towards the debt LOL.

    Very well put, Gamtrak.

This country is headed towards ruining itself. We can all hold political opinions of any kind we like, but it all comes down to one thing:

SOMEONE HAS TO PAY THE PIPER.

Financial management has been as irresponsible as it can get. If the politicians were treated as ordinary citizens, they would all be in jail for fraud.

I feel very sorry for the twenty and thirty something olds in the US, they are the ones who will have to finally pay the piper.

The Outstanding Public Debt as of 04 Sep 2008 at 06:38:25 PM GMT is:

    9,671,413,084,371.33

The estimated population of the United States is 304,667,293
so each citizen’s share of this debt is $31,744.18.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of
$1.94 billion per day since September 28, 2007!

With government being so totally irresponsible, I am not at all surprised that citizens think they can spend more than they have whenever they please. Too bad that citizens lose their ass while government gets away with it until the country collapses. All they have to worry about is 4 years and they are set for life.

Eventually China, Japan and others are going to call in those markers.

There was a time when the USA lent money to other countries now we just borrow, borrow, borrow.

Looks like the Red Cross has been forced to take out a Line of Credit to help the folks in all of the states that have been hit by the hurricans from the past three years and now IKE is due to hit in a couple days.

The Red Cross is yet again asking the hard-working, financially strapped American folks for help when the average hard working family is in need of help themselves.

I’m sure that most of us will rise to the challenge to do what we can while Bush and McCain continue to spend 10 billion dollars a month in Iraq and ignore our country.

The GOP look down on charity, but thank God for those “Community Leaders” who care about the country and the people because we certainly need them to assist in this effort.

Look at that national debt that the next generation has to bear! :( I guess when you are rich enough to take care of your future generations then you can ignore that outragous number above.

The Red Cross took another loan back 2004 with the big Tsunami if I remember correctly.

The GOP just hates handouts of any kind as do most Republicans.
But actually some guy wrote a book and was shocked to find that Republicans actually gave more money to charities than Democrats.

When I heard this I was somewhat shocked as well as I always though Democrats were more generous. This does not clearly fit the personality traits of Republicans. I concluded that Republicans just wanted the charitable tax deduction although there is a big reglious following.

However, anyone can fork over a few bucks but a truly generous person will give you their time. I would imagine that if they measured non-monetarial charitable contributions Democrats give more.
