Patty and I are voting for Barack Obama and hope that you will consider the same. We need change from the past failed policies of the Bush administration. The American working and middle class has been raped by the Bush administration for 8 years. Corporations has been given a tax haven and have outsource jobs to other countries. The USA under the Bush administration has borrowed billions from communist China to finance the war in Iraq that was based on lies. Thousands of young men and women have been killed and wounded in Iraq base on a lie. We can not stand another 4 years of the same failed policies that have brought us to the brink of the greatest depression ever. Ask yourself, have we not been through enough? Ask yourself, do I think we have a good future ahead us if we continue 4 more years of Mcsame? What is the future of your kids and grandchildren going to be like if government continues down the same path it has the last 8 years? The Republicans lead our fathers, mothers, grandfathers, and grandmothers into the 1928 Great Depression. Vote Obama/Biden and give the American working and middle class a chance again.

Cheers, Captain.
August 29, 2008 at 8:32 pm #777248AnonymousInactiveYes, Obama = Biden (30+ years in DC)
Yes, Obama who has seen the light and not sees that socialism can do to a country – look at Europe
Yes, Obama who is the Pesident of the world and doesn’t care about the US as long as the world (Europe) is fine – afterall, he has declared himself the citzen of the world!August 29, 2008 at 11:43 pm #777261AnonymousInactiveHey Friends,
Remember Bill Frist? It’s time for a change my friends. Bill Clinton left office with the US having surplus. Come on people and relize reality. I think this candicate is sencere. Vote for Mc same and see the greatest depression of all time. It’s time for Americans to stand up and say enuf.August 30, 2008 at 12:45 am #777264AnonymousInactiveI will be voting for Obama for sure.
I’m just amazed at the desparation showed by McCain by picking an unknown women that he only met one time who has very little to NO experience as his VP when he is 72 years old and had four bouts with cancer and god forbid could not last four years.
You can’t just change the skirt and expect me to fall for it.
IMO the point was not so much to have a woman in office as it was to have someone that I agreed with on a lot of issues. Showing some woman with a shotgun in her hands that is against a womans right to choose and make decisions regarding her body is not someone that is appealing to me at all.
August 30, 2008 at 2:36 am #777270Shad LeeMemberI’ll be the first to admit I’m not up on American politics.
I’m interested in knowing which one of the candidates is more likely to legalize online poker?
August 30, 2008 at 4:59 am #777275affiliategodMemberMcCain had me until he picked his vp running mate.

Is all I needed to turn me off.
August 30, 2008 at 5:20 am #777277AnonymousInactiveIf Hilary would have made the ticket then MCain would have never even considered a women. He would have one of the ‘good ole boys’ right beside him tonight, but he was smart enough to know that would lose him the election for sure.
I don’t believe that the average man is 100% excited about the choice either as I just don’t see them jumping up and down with joy at the thought of dealing with a female Commander and Chief at a PMS moment. LMAO
August 30, 2008 at 5:32 am #777279AnonymousInactiveHaving a woman is power would be great, if it was for the right reasons.
August 30, 2008 at 1:24 pm #777301AnonymousInactiveObama has my vote!

The republicans still have it on their agenda to stomp out online gambling. They say so on their site. Mcain once played craps for 14 hours straight and lost his behind. He is not fond of gambling.
The democrats say nothing on their site and Obama plays poker.
August 30, 2008 at 6:58 pm #777327AnonymousInactiveHere are some tax stats if anyone is interested. I personally don’t like socialism and I think handouts are a poor way of motivating people. Hard working people should be rewarded and not punished. I wish we would just go back to the flat tax or consumption tax and abolish the IRS all together and that’s why I’ll probably be voting for Bob Barr.
You can verify a lot of this here:
http://money.cnn.com/news/specials/election/2008/index.htmlProposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election:
CAPITAL GAINS TAX
MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.
OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home salesHow does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.
DIVIDEND TAX
MCCAIN 15% (no change)OBAMA 39.6%
How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that ‘Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.’
INCOME TAX
MCCAIN (no changes)Single making 30K – tax $4,500
Single making 50K – tax $12,500
Single making 75K – tax $18,750
Married m aking 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K – tax $18,750
Married making 125K – tax $31,250OBAMA (reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)
Single making 30K – tax $8,400
Single making 50K – tax $14,000
Single making 75K – tax $23,250
Married making 60K – tax $16,800
Married making 75K – tax $21,000
Married making 125K – tax $38,750Under Obama, your taxes will more than double!
How does this affect you? No explanation needed. This is pretty straight
forward.INHERITANCE TAX
MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)
OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax
How does this affect you? Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.
NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA
New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet.
New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren’t high enough already)
New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)
New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least….
New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

Would the UK, Canada, and Europe fall under third world countries?

Listening to the “experts” has gotten us where we are today and I’m not up for more of the same ole crap. Just because it’s shown in a ‘logical’ way does not make it ture.
IMO all that stuff is used for scare tactics and i’m not a big fan of stats so I go by my gut.
Obama made a lot of promises in his speach that I do not see possible, but I’ll give him a chance to do what he can because he can relate to the people and not someone so rich that they can’t keep track of how many friggen houses they own! :sarcasm:

I lived in Canada for years. I tried to get a hernia operation because my intestines were sticking out above my belly button. Sorry, non emergency and I went on a 3 year waiting list. My neighbor with severe back pain, 3 year waiting list. He did finally get the surgery and it was good. I flew to California and had surgery the next day and was back home in Canada 2 days later. So no, I wouldn’t exactly call Canada’s medical third world, but its not something I would want for my family.
