InactiveIf so, Grand Prive is completely inconsiderate of the affiliates that fed it, and they are coming off my sites all the way, no international traffic for them. Same goes for anyone else who will not give us a grace period.
Ditto! We will start removing them asap

InactiveI don’t have a problem with MGS making a change or even with the ad hoc way the news came out.
BUT the idea that an affiliate program is shutting down our “lifetime” accounts and keeping US players that we have a referral agreement on is breach of protocol, breach of trust and most importantly a breach of contract.

biggygMemberI would like to see these operater buy another software like rival or rtg and move our usa players there and of course continue to pay us!Are you listening Fortune group and Brightshare? LOL
Regardless of which traffic they use , they are the people we have high regard for and most importantly TRUST.November 8, 2008 at 7:42 pm #786019Anonymous
InactiveI have to admit to being a bit confused by the reactions to the Grand Prive announcement. They decide to shut all US player accounts because it’s difficult to pay them. I mean, it’s not ideal obviously, but it’s their decision and is bound to impact them financially so must have been carefully thought through. I don’t see it as them shafting affiliates: they just made a business decision that’s all. No contracts broken as far as I can see.
And at least they’ve been up-front enough to give everyone a month’s notice rather than the usual couple of days. They could have kept stumm and avoided the flak, especially as others may be in the same position soon.

I sure hope the programs that stop allowing our existing U.S. players to play do everything in their power to move our players to a new platform where they can continue to play.
Kind of like what Wager Profits did with our U.S. players (moving them to Pantasia and making sure their affiliates kept the players).
Clearly all of the Microgaming U.S. players are still a valuable assest and I would assume groups that stop allowing them to play would attempt to sell them to a group that could allow them to keep playing.
Don’t forget about your affiliates MG groups!
That would be an absolute last resort. They might do list swaps but there is no way the bigger operators will sell off their lists to make life easier for small software providers.
As for the large groups switching software, this is very unlike. They all have upwards of 50% and some even more than 60% of non-US player bases. They will shift all their marketing spend, take a hit for a couple of years, and build their businesses.
I think our worry is not that much about the Rival, Vegas Tech and (handful of reliable) RTG operators. It is whether the software can accommodate the features that US players have loved in MGS. The reliable operators will shine through. The product innovation and really sex promotions is what lags behind in some ways and I hope we see that change soon.

InactiveFrom my understanding, after losing English Harbour years ago, MGS changed their terms so that if you leave the platform, they own the players. I might not be right, but i’ve got the impression that once you’re in with microgaming, you’re in for life. As a result the casinos/affiliate programs can’t really move to another platform.

InactiveI though I read Nov 17th was a deadline date for the regs to get pushed through.
If the banks blanket all transactions, it could be game over.November 9, 2008 at 2:24 am #786040Anonymous
GuestHi all,
well we’ll see if my sources are good. They told me that this is a MGS decision and ifso … well you know the rest.
suppose to be a meeting Monday so maybe some of the operators can talk them out of it or make special arrangement.
I hope like hell I’m wrong but I felt I owed it to you all to let you know asap as I would want to know.

I didn’t say it was a breach of contract, I said it was inconsiderate.
We don’t have any grace period there. Others are giving us a grace period.

I alluded it to being breech dom, i think simmo was talking about that.
I hear some groups say they’re keeping existing players and they’ll stay under our accounts, but others say they’re shutting their affiliate programs. That makes me wonder if the groups shutting their affiliates out of the US market (existing players) are still keeping those players playing and just not paying our share.
I don’t work with Grand Prive, so i didn’t mean to point to them specifically.

InactiveYou know guys, this thing is so half baked and I have heard so many versions of things that I am going to hang back and watch for a bit.
Frankly, I don’t believe half of what I have heard. And the other half leaves me to think we ain’t heard nothing yet.
So rather than contribute to all the rumors floating about I am going to concentrate on mapping out the future of my business.
