Revolution anyone, too bad the public just sits back and takes this crap anymore. Gone are the good old days of action.

Could someone from Microgaming, RTG, or one of the affiliate programs please post here and let us know what is being done to stop the seizures?

I hope you have an army of lawyers on the phone working on this.

Most of them have solid registrars which simply won’t respond to the US government (KY government) requests. Those who registered with US companies will lose the domains and will move to “newXXXcasino.com” :)

The selection of domains must have something to do with where the domains are registered, Goldenpalace doesn’t even face the US.

Oh, and my personal belief – affiliates have nothing to worry about. The case was made on “gambling devices”, while neither of us is opperating a true gambling website. I hope I’m right. Although the rednecks can always come up with “devices for facilitating illegal gambling”… And knowing that the Gov’nor and the judge probably drink their sweet teas together at the counrty club…

Might be a good idea to keep this discussion to one threat (combining this one and the one in the news section?)

Otherwise updates and news on this might get posted in different treats, making it harder to follow..

What really scares me that this Governor is democrat.
Are the parties in the USA allow their members to behave this way neglecting the party’s public opinion about given issues? I thought Obama is taking gambling easy, and you guys are waiting for him to be the next president…How does this work in the US?

Why? This has never been a party issue. Both dems and reps vote for intenret gambling ban. The dems could care less about legal online gambling, same for the republicans.

    From the http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2008/sep/23/gambling.usa

PokerStars and others are believed to be preparing to send a team of lawyers to Kentucky to fight the legal claim, which is being backed by governor Steve Beshear. They are expected to argue the Kentucky courts have no jurisdiction over dotcom domain names registered overseas. Insiders believe they will side-step arguments about whether or not taking cash from US players is in breach of US law.

Many industry experts suggested the Kentucky action was unlikely to succeed. “This is a stunt,” said a Washington attorney, David Stewart.

This is different than Republican vs. Democrat. He is trying to protect brick and mortar businesses from the obvious advantages that online businesses can offer consumers.

Protectionism creating an unequal playing field (a.k.a. big business special interest group abusive power American capitalism). What else is new?:sarcasm:
