InactiveWhy not set up a separate company and have everyone as shareholders or something, at least the initial people who sign up. That way you don’t just get one person controlling it.

InactiveAnd try not to overcomplicate it, simple systems are usually the best. I could consider donating a site I just bought off the captain which ranks on about the second page or so for online gambling which would get us off to a great start. I haven’t had time to do any work on it yet, it even still has has aff links on!

Two thoughts here. I investigated a similar idea a while back and came up with two key problems, one of which has been mentioned: fairness. The other is ownership: it builds a potentially valuable resource to people yet domain ownership and control is an issue that could cause problems further down the line, especially if it achieves it’s goal and becomes high traffic. On the fairness issue, you could arrange it so the affiliate links are pooled and for each visitor sent by a referring site who subsequently clicks an outgoing link, the referring affiliate gets one affiliate link displayed until it is clicked. But again, this is potentially open to abuse. needs some thought but think along the lines of the TGP sites.

Yep, that’s it in a nutshell.
One has to plan for down the line, since the relationships among participants can soon sour if someone feels slighted. It needs to be planned out properly.

InactiveThis is a great idea. I only hope that it is not restricted and lets everyone in CAP participate. I have 4 pr 4 sites.

InactiveThis is a top idea, I know people seem worried that there maybe some problems – but you need to look at this from a ‘Risk Vs Reward’ perspective.
The risk is: it might not work, someone might run off with the domain, people might not get the exact exposure they would like on the site etc, etc, now look at the reward, we could get a site in to top positions for gambling terms in many search engines by pooling our resources (existing domains, content, marketing skills). There is little actually ‘Risk’, ok we might spend sometime adding links, generating some content and designing a great site, but the risk is so small and the rewards possible so big that makes it more than worth giving it a go!
if this works for casinos – then roll it out to poker, bingo, blackjack etc.
By the way i’m a qualifed graphic designer with years of experience desiging websites for corporates like MBNA (bank of america) I would be willing to have a crack at the design of the site if needed, or at least help out with any design issue etc.
I have a ruck of casino related domains – some even listed in the DMOZ – should help with the link building etc.
One last thing: I wouldn’t mention the actual domain of the site we choose to use anywhere on forums or boards etc! search engines have a way of sniffing out these things and if it works there will be plenty of jealous webmaster how could report it as spam.

InactiveI’ll play if this gets organized. Two PR4 sites to enter.

InactiveThe site has to offer good, useful content or it will be spam!

I have a lot of content in databases which could be outputted then rejigged a little to give 100s of unique pages. I’m sure a lot of you could do the same.

I think this site could grow very quickly, not just because of all the sites linking to it but also because so many people will be contributing a lot of fresh and unique content. I assume it will be set up so that the old slots/pages will still be on the site after they finish on the front page. One thing though is that it is important for someone or a group of people to be viewing the submitted slots to ensure it is unique content etc.

InactiveWhat about a multi-langual site? Like different languages… I know me and “heimdall” can do Norwegian… and there is plenty of other members who can do other languages

InactiveYes, but…..
Google is suspicious of fast growth.
Various languages is a good idea though….

InactiveI’m still brainstorming and I was thinking of a company in which everyone has a share (like Heimdall already mentioned), but maybe that’s difficult to manage (accountability etc.)
On content: I thought of adding an ebook archive: where everyone can put it’s casino ebooks with their affiliatecodes in it. (it’s best to launch this later on I think)
Rotating banners seems fair to me and the exposure could be determined by some algorithm that takes into account somthing like: alexa backlinks to the site, outgoing links, site-age.
Or just as I’m writing this: maybe we can determine how much exposure you get by looking at your current rankings for for example “online casino”. Or create various pages which target specific keywords and use this same tactic. It will motivate the participants to do some awesome SEO.
Like I said, I’m just still in the brainstorm-phase. So what do you guys think: are my ideas wacked? :banger: or do someone agrees?
