Couldn’t agree more Professor many people get infected with an individualistic view of the world. It is all about “me” and not “us”. In this industry working strictly out of self interest would be a failure.

I stand behind what your message Professor.

    from an old book

“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand”.

In other words ” United We Stand ” …

the big boys are united in smashing

    our little kingdom.

Let’s Unite and beat the *(&&*#(&*$#(#&@ lying bastards.

    :cuss:

Boy I feel better now that I let that out of my system.

So I would suggest everyone take that into consideration and also remember that it was Bill Frist, Goodlatte, Leach, Kyle, and several others who made this happen.

No. It is apathetic individuals who bitch about rights after they have been taken from them..never, ever to return that ALLOWED this to happen. The writing was on the wall for a long time. A very long time.

I personally talked to Annie Duke, Greg Raymer, Doyle Brunson, Susie Isaacs, Joe Hachem, Barbara Enright and Michael Mizrachi in Vegas at the WSOP. Some were gracious enough to be interviewed for my podcast on the forthcoming bill, but the feeling was intrepidation by many poker pros of impending doom for the online scene.

No one, including myself, foresaw a total tit like Frist pulling off such a bodyline effort. He did. Will he get away with it?

You can listen to the original podcast here, feel free to use, unbranded and no advertising:

Where now? There are calls that the WTO are still investigating the legalities, but my immediate reaction is when has the US listened to foreign advice anyway?

The long term scenario is no player will be dragged screaming from their pc while at a final table of poker at many online poker rooms. Many jumped the gun and abandoned US players…those that did not will reap their rewards 10 fold. Poetic justice really.

    Stay strong.

The Accredited List is back up at Casinomeister as expected, without direct links to the casinos.

    Cheers

I believe the most fair thing to do is to SUPPORT THOSE WHO SUPPORT YOU. I stand by this statement.

Why would you support someone who doesn’t? I agree with the sentiment Professor.

I prefer the talk of togetherness.

The reality is this though imo :: If Bryan stuck 2 fingers up to the US, kept the links up etc, then got arrested at some stage, no one here could help him get out of jail, much as we’d try. The same for you, same for casino owner xyz.

More is the pity, for sure. But I am afraid it is the way it is.

Yes, they all acted as if they were not concerned; not until the law passed to I hear anything from any of the pros. Since the law has passed I haved Duke and Brunson speak out against the law. Little too late now isn’t it?

If the pros would have stuck together in addition to all the celebrity poker players I think at the very least a lot more people would have been aware of what was going on.

Same with all the affiliates, casinos and poker rooms and their respective affiliate programs. If they had contacted each and every single one of their players people would have been better prepared to voice their opinions.

We all sat around waiting for it to happen, and now we are reactive when we could have been proactive. Oh well, maybe things will level out and we will still be able to drink our Krug and Bollinger RD.

I should set the record straight.

Annie, Greg and Chris were very vocal in their opposition and commented publicly for my podcast without any hesitation. Doyle Brunson refused to comment and then I explained to him how in Australia our bill had passed in a very underhanded way back in 2001. I asked him to comment again and he said no…I then said that he would be affected being that he owns his own room and he then said this is why he wouldn’t comment.

But Doyle if YOU won’t stand up for poker players who’s left?

I lost much respect for him that day. Joe Hachem offered to comment at a later tme and we just didn’t catch up again, others were either scared or apathetic.
