Consumers use the unique 19 digit Ukash number printed on the voucher to pay for goods and services online, avoiding the need to use a credit card. “Ukash is already available to an estimated 226 million European internet users who don't have or don't wish to use credit or debit cards online. I’m pleased that South Africa’s 5 million internet users will now have the chance to use Ukash when they shop, play and pay online”, Chirnside said. “A number of leading South African online stores will be going live soon, providing even more choice for consumers to spend their Ukash”. Ukash is free of any charges or fees to the consumer, and avoids the need to put financial details on the internet.
