Online Poker Players Square off in Fitness Bet

The world of high-stakes poker is an exciting one. The world of high-stakes poker players' prop bets is bizarre, amazing and sometimes downright dangerous.

Less than a fortnight after Danish pros Gus Hansen and Theo Jorgensen squared off in the boxing ring for a five-figure sum, Sorel Mizzi and Bertrand Grospellier have revealed that they are to take part in a marathon prop bet of fitness.

Writing on his blog, Mizzi said that the two will square off in seventeen different events, including a nine-round kickboxing match. The winner receives $230,000 as well as 15% of anything the loser wins in the next $300,000 worth of tournaments – most are expected to be at the 2009 WSOP.

‘Having a healthy lifestyle can only improve your poker game as it has effects for your mind and overall well-being," Mizzi wrote. $230k probably doesn't hurt either.
