Content Marketing Strategies for Affiliates

Content is everywhere—on the web, on television, on our phones. With so much information being shared every second of the day, how can you make sure that your content is not only found, but embraced?

Here are 4 keys to content marketing mastery for gaming affiliates.

Integrate All Forms of Media

In this day of social media (as well as traditional forms of media), it’s vital to engage in different platforms to boost your content and online visibility. You should integrate some or all of these media options into your content plan: social media (this includes Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Chime.in. and  YouTube), publishing e-books, newsletters and press releases, and hosting podcasts and webinars. And of course, all of these should interlink with each other.

Content is Platform Friendly

Content is not one-size-fits-all. No matter what you’re writing about, make sure your content fits with the platform you are using to share it.

For example:

  • Press releases should be newsworthy, clear and to-the-point.
  • Social media content should be informative, entertaining and conversational. It should also be shareable and not overly-promotional.
  • Websites should include educational as well as entertaining content, but above all should compel the user to act. Do you want them to subscribe to a newsletter?, check out your affiliate gaming links?, etc.

Go Mobile

Quickly becoming known as “the fourth screen” (after movie, television and the PC), mobile devices are critical for maximizing the reach of your content. Consider more advanced mobile content strategies such as using FourSquare to connect with people in close proximity to your location, and/or incorporating QR codes.

Good Content is the Master Key

When all is said and done, the primary key to content marketing mastery is to have good content. No matter how you package it, present it or spin it, content that is engaging, fresh and original will be found and ultimately shared. Always keep your audience in mind and give them something of value— whether they’re reading your blog, your tweets, watching your YouTube channel or listening to your podcast. Informative, focused and fun content guarantees a strong online presence.
