The status of professional women’s sports in the United States took a major step forward recently when BetMGM announced a new partnership with the Las Vegas Aces Women’s NBA team. This marks the first partnership between BetMGM and any professional women’s sports team and will likely pave the way for more partnerships in the future.
Partnering with the Las Vegas Aces is both a historic step forward, and something of a no-brainer, for BetMGM. After all, the Las Vegas Aces are a two-time WNBA champions and have the obvious connection to Las Vegas, the spiritual homeland of American regulated gambling.
Under the terms of the deal, which runs through 2027, BetMGM will maintain plenty of signage at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, where the team plays. There’s also VIP events, fan interactions, and other arena promotions that are de rigueur in these types of deals.
WNBA Chief Growth Officer Colie Edison summed up the deal in a recent press release saying, “On the heels of an incredible 2024 season when WNBA delivered significant growth in all areas of fan engagement, and with so much excitement surrounding the 2025 season, we want to continue to lean into betting and finding new and innovative ways to engage with our fans and provide the experiences they wan. BetMGM is doing just that by offering new and expansive betting markets for WNBA fans. And by partnering with the Aces, BetMGM continues to recognize the extraordinary potential for growth that comes from tapping into the power of women’s sports and the connections fans have to their favorite players and teams.”
