Slot machines, both land-based and online, are far and away the most popular gambling products in America. This week, officials at BetMGM offered proof of that fact with the announcement that their New Jersey progressive online slot pool is now sitting at a record $4.2 million.
BetMGM’s progressive slots pool covers games at BetMGM, Borgata, Wheel of Fortune Casino and Party Casino and are collectively titled, “The Big One” – which in this case is an extremely accurate description. With 19 game titles, including MGM Grand Millions; MGM Grand Millions High Roller; Bison Fury; Mirage Mega Magma; and Loot’en Khamun: The Dead Sea Scrolls, the prize pool is getting larger every day.
That the country’s largest online progressive slots prize is piling up in New Jersey is not a shock to anyone who follows the US-facing online casino business. New Jersey is by far the most active online casino market in the US. iGaming pulled in $1.92 billion in revenue in 2023, a leap of 15.7 percent over 2022. Of that $1.92 billion, $1.82 billion came from online slots. In 2023, BetMGM alone handed out $138 million in slot machines prizes, a jump of 32 percent over 2022.
