Tracking With PHP Jump Script

Good Morning. I am playing around with a php jump script to handle all my outgoing links. However, my stats provider doesn’t show any of the clicks as an exit using this method. After a little research I understand that I can have someone set up a click counter in mysql, and I just wanted to see if anyone else is aware of any other method to track exit links other than just a click counter if I am using a php jump script.
