How did you do in 2006?

Did your business grow? Did it take a nose dive?

Greek,

All of your posts here at CAP have been invaluable (sp) to me and if I could pay you for all the knowledge that you have provided to me you wouldn’t need to worry about making any money from your sites.

Yes – if you couldn’t make money this year – then you just were not trying.

2006 was a learning expierence, and a year to grow some really great relationships, both personally and professionaly I’ve definately learned to be flexible and take what comes this year, to be innovative, and keep moving

I knew it, now there are two webmasters “applying for food stamps”!. Welcome to my world. I have been avoiding this for quite sometime but it must be done. I respectfully ask the most honest and straightforward person to review my site. This person happens to be TheGooner . I realize it will be painful but honest. I will PM and give details if you feel up to it.

Next I will be approaching webber for some help. The question why does the yahoo bot return a 304 when visiting my site. Only my front page indexed for over the past two years? with no serps. I will explain in greater detail.

Finally I hoping Dominique can give me a better understanding on how some of these affiliate programs work. I don’t know a more qualified person to ask.

So yes I do need a little help pretty please. The internet I know very well, but I lack in other areas.

Well, you know who to stay away from because of bad practices, you read CAP faithfully.

Beyond that, it’s a matter of matching promotions to the type player you attract. I don’t know diddly about what sports folks like, like the gooner has, and I don’t know what you carry on your sites. Figure out what the people come to your site to find (what are your keywords?) and find the programs that offer the best of that type of promotions. Make contact, work with them. Make sure the visitors find exactly what they came for so you get the best possible conversions. If it is in tune with what the casinos you picked like to push, they will retain better for you.

So it’s not really a matter of picking a program you get along with, it’s a matter of matching players and promos after you weed out the programs you don’t want to do business with because of bad affiliate terms or bad treatment of players. If you get a good match, your site will perform and there are a lot of programs that will work closely with you.

I hate sports and poker and it shows in my earnings , how can you effectively promote something you dont have a clue about lol.My goal for 2007 is to make a decent poker page LOL.I’M STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT A RAKEBACK AND A FREEROLL IS lol

Good advice Dominique I have not been doing any of the things you mention. Instead I spend way too much time on tracking stuff down. I find it very difficult to turn a blind eye when people are getting burnt. This is going to have stop because it has costed me dearly.

Casinobonusguy to be honest here, I played Online Poker once. I too am still trying to figure it out. I have no clue what all the Poker slang terminlogy means.

Hi Greek39,

Why not get your signature going? It can’t hurt. You do have over 2000 posts and I believe it updates in posts globally.

Cheers,

Exactly – know your visitors.

Examine your stats to see popular pages.
Examine your stats to see popular keyword.
Place polls to get some feedback about what they’re looking for.
Run a forum so that they can interact with you.

Agreed. It IS a case of “horses for courses.”
If you’re getting Canadian traffic then you want Candian firendly properties.
If you’re getting small players who like a big match bonus – then find those sites.
IF you get players who like to stake big – thne find those places.

As far as sports goes – this is a tough market to break into.
Posting banners and adverts doesn’t cut it without content.

You either know your particular sport – and can talk about it – or you don’t.
If you don’t then it’s hard to make many sales – as the site reviews tend to be lightweight and don’t cover what people want to know about.
