Combining RSS feeds

pjotter asked 3 years ago
So it seems like it is possible to get regularly updated RSS feeds with casino news from a couple of super affiliate programs like Brightshare!

Next question is: how to combine these RSS feeds into one list with the newest items first…

I have read about Yahoo Pipes, but it seems a bit difficult…

Has anyone tried an easy and fast option for combining RSS feed that they can recommend?

I would just scrape the data into a database, and make sure to add a timestamp field.

Oy Vey… sounds so technical… Wouldn’t even know where to start. Technical savvy folks, please lend your insight!

Nevermind my last idea. Check out this article. At least one of those resources should do the trick.

RSS feeds still make me crazy when they don’t work on some of my sites.

I also followed the instructions and a few examples when I tried yahoo pipes to create an automatic retweet feed. The prewrriten ones worked only some of the time. The instructions make it look sooo easy.

Anyway, I just tried the rssmix.com site.
I added the rss feeds from two of my blogs.
The result was presented in an html format Mix ID 3072360
and an RSS format RSSMix.com Mix ID 3072360

If you do the same for whatever you want to combine, you could bookmark the links in your browser.

I don’t want to showcase my ignorance here, but isn’t combining rss feeds the purpose those ‘rss aggregators’ like ‘my yahoo’ (which I never use) and google (they always seem to show up nice in firefox and as boring code in chrome).

Seems like you know more than me anyways… I tried the Windows Live aggregator and this seems to be the best pick – for me at least!

Thanks for your help everyone!

Oh crud. I was not trying to be condescending.
Hope you weren’t offended.

My my case, a little knowledge seems to go… no where.
I’ve tried to figure out all that RSS feed business many times before and it still eludes me.
All I can hope to do is ‘work with it’ even if I don’t know entirely what I’m doing.

Glad you found your answer!

Cheers!

Not at all. Funny how sometimes the answer is simple and right in front of you – I use Windows Live Mail everyday, but never thought about trying their aggregator! Not that this aggregator is particularly fancy, but it does the trick and it’s quite easy when it is combined with a program I use daily!
