I’m a new affiliate, since June 2006, and I’ve had a great time! My first month I made $100USD and it has grown each month and in February I earned over $10,000 in commissions. It goes to show that you can still succeed in this business if you work at it. Sure, if you just throw up a site with links, even if it’s an appealing site, and you let it remain static, your profits will shrink. On the other hand, if you are willing to take the necessary steps, align yourself with quality companies, and actually work a couple hours a day, then you will succeed!

I answered the poll in regards to my expectation of my profits and not the overall online gaming industry. As a whole I believe that the industry will take a significant hit financially, but there is a great deal of displaced players out there looking for a quality gaming site! There is great opportunity to grow your business…that is the silver lining!

Looking into the future, if (when) the ex Neteller execs are aquitted, I believe the floodgates will re-open and it will be ‘game on’! :woohoo:

Affiliates that were just making enough money to get by, will either leave this business or diversify in order to stay afloat.

Affiliates whose sites have a strong online presence will be ok, and will most probably benefit from the departure of so many affiliates from the industry.

Reputable affiliate programs may offer higher commissions to appeal to the remaining affiliates, as well as a larger range of marketing materials including multi-lingual reviews, etc

Shady affiliate programs with predatory terms and conditions will be sorry as the affiliates that remain will be unlikely to promote them, since it will be hard enough to make money with the decent affiliate programs, let alone the shady ones.

nice analysis Oz. Do you have an MBA? <span title=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />

oh yeah, I replied “Very optimistic”.

1. excited for the Kentucky Derby and Triple Crown horse racing fever. This niche market has a very loyal audience – those who are Internet savvy tend to have deep pockets – enjoy the races everyday and play a lot of poker and a bit of casino games.

2. excited for the WPT and WSOP poker fevers with less competition (fewer books, fewer affiliates)

3. excited for the coming football season with less competition (fewer books, fewer affiliates)

4. excited on the fall/exit of George Bush and his bunch of conservative Republicans.

5. Excited about Asia! Dunno why, coz we are located in Asia? <span title=” title=”” class=”bbcode_smiley” />
