Are You Making Money Through Adwords?

bingodude asked 3 years ago
Obv you do not have to say what keywords your are targeting on advertising on Adwords, people do not want more competition even though it looks like people are targeting a whole wide range which is great. That way we all benefit and we can help each other.

Back to the point – On adwords I was going to sign up but it would have cost me £1 a click, but you can not guarantee what conversion it would be. It could be 50 visitors = 1 sign up – £10 for a total of £50. £40 loss.

I can imagine someone now. Paid link in google, competitor clicks it. “haha, I have just cost them $2, I am going to do it again, haha, yes, and again”

I can think of better things to do with my time than do something like that. It is a billion dollar industry so having just 0.5% is a lot, infact I am not working out the maths but probably 0.05% is alot so even with all the competition you can still make money so why not work together instead of scheming against one another?

The guys behind casinochoice.co.uk must be spending £100,000s a month and that’s only a portal. It must be profitable because they have twenty staff to pay as overheads. Probably long long term revshare keeps it in the black, some keywords they target go for £35 per click.

It’s extremely saturated but clearly still profitable if you have the budget. I’ll be taking another plunge into this difficult market soon (after a six year absence) once my homepage is redesigned for UK exclusivity. One way I plan to control the budget is by only showing ads at certain times of day, which has worked very well for me in another sector. For example catching whales is probably best done early afternoon. Worst time would be friday/saturday nights IMO where you get one off drunk players.

Would still love to hear any tips!
