PPC Tests

Randy asked 3 years ago
I’ve been doing some tests of some PPC engines, and I’m getting some interesting results.

GoClick, which I’d always thought was really good, hasn’t been converting very well for me at all.

7search, which I’d always thought was only okay, has been converting pretty well for me. In fact, of all the 2nd tier PPC engines, they’ve been my most consistent engine conversion-wise.

Epilot, Enhance, and Kanoodle all were awful, and just about equally awful. Tons of traffic that might be worth 2 or 3 cents a click overall.

Espotting has been good. Not loads of traffic, but decent conversions.

Bettorsearch hasn’t produced diddley. But I wasn’t overly surprised by that either. Neither did Searchgambling. Very few clicks, and NO conversions.

I tested the above engines by sending traffic directly to a casino from the engine. That way I could know with certainty what the traffic was worth, and since it was the same casino, I could also factor out any variation based on different casino conversion rates.

Findwhat has such a good reputation that I haven’t even really tested it–I’ve just been sending traffic to my portals from there. Been seeing decent results too.

If that helps anyone else plan out there PPC campaigns, then great. But my time and effort will be focused almost entirely on learning design and search engine optimization from here on out.

Out of all those search engines I would consider Espotting a 1st tier search engine. They are just as big as Overture over in Europe.

I got a ton of players at the french casino coins casino a while back with Overture France. For some reason i could never make money and I didn’t quite understand it. I went and downloaded the software and I kept getting an error when trying to deposit funds. I then learned that the software was in english and only the website was in french, hence the poor results. Before I could try a different french casino the bids were out of my range.

Years ago I advertised on 7search, and i agree they are better than kanoodle, ah-ha and epilot. I just dont understand why they cant give thier websites a makeover. As for ah-ha, you might as well throw your money out of the window.

GoClick just doesn’t produce conversions for me, either.
I wonder if they have a bunch of “click” employees in India or what….

Just now giving FindWhat a try.

Looksmart has a terrible interface, and I haven’t figured out if their traffic is as bad as it seems or if I’m just imagining it.

Good point about espotting. Typical American thinking I guess. My bad.

7search did just do a site makeover, although it’s pretty cosmetic only. Same old clunky interface to manage your bids.

I was asked to submit my picture ID and other confirming ID to a ppc so they could charge my card?

What nonsense is that?

I did not allow for automatic payments, so what is their problem?

I refused, I don’t like such things with all the identity theft going on.

I’m not having good results with Looksmart either. But they sure as hell have plenty of traffic to sell you.

Randy pretty much hit the nail on the head. Now I gotta hit him on the head for giving out that valuable info.
