Thanks for stating the FACTS! I’m so sick of folks lying about that!!! It’s NOT true folks so don’t fall for it. :D

We ALL are going to pay for the bailout! It was passed and McPalin voted for it.

McCain Campaign Manager Paid By Fannie Mae As Recent As Last Month
Published September 23, 2008 in Economy, John McCain and Newsweek.
The McCain campaign makes the unusual step of being bought off in advance by having an inside man in McCain campaign manager Rick Davis.

One of the giant mortgage companies at the heart of the credit crisis paid $15,000 a month to a firm owned by Senator John McCain’s campaign manager from the end of 2005 through last month, according to two people with direct knowledge of the arrangement. The disclosure contradicts a statement Sunday night by Mr. McCain that the campaign manager, Rick Davis, had no involvement with the company for the last several years. Mr. Davis’s firm received the payments from the company, Freddie Mac, until it was taken over by the government this month along with Fannie Mae, the other big mortgage lender whose deteriorating finances helped precipitate the cascading problems on Wall Street, the people said.

    And John McCain lied again.

On Sunday, in an interview with CNBC and the New York Times, Mr. McCain responded to a question about Mr. Davis’s role in the advocacy group by saying that his campaign manager “has had nothing to do with it since, and I’ll be glad to have his record examined by anybody who wants to look at it.”

Well, either that or McCain is incompetent and doesn’t know about his staff’s side business that he would stand to have sway over in his position as a senator or in the unfortunate chance he was elected president.

I wonder if Rick Davis’ name will come up in the FBI investigation?

Republicans are the party of deregulation. One of the main jobs for lobbyists in most industries (Banking, Insurance, Mortgage, etc.) is to push for no oversight/regulations. Guess who’s running McCains campaign? Lobbyists! (More Lobbyists On McCain Staff Than Any Other 08 Candidatehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/06/23/huffpost-exclusive-more-_n_53456.html ) Rick Davis, McCain’s campaign manager was receiving cash from Freddie up until a month ago!
    & I quote (from Newsweek http://www.newsweek.com/id/160561 )
“Since 2006, the federally sponsored mortgage giant Freddie Mac has paid at least $345,000 to the lobbying and consulting firm of John McCain’s campaign manager, Rick Davis, according to two sources familiar with the arrangement. “

All I have to say, whether it’s Obama or McCain who win’s, they’ve certainly won one hell of a prize, America in recession teetering on the edge of depression, mainly from financial nonsense.

Good luck to the winner, you have the opportunity to be the next Herbert Hoover or FDR. For me, it’s Obama who’s most likely to the be the FDR of the two.

Pretty chart, here is the kicker..

The tax breaks for Obama are one time rebate checks for the low and middle class.. not so much an ongoing break, and I don’t believe people who do not pay taxes at all should receive a rebate.

Second, While the people are getting a rebate, Obama is going to rape Investors, big business, small business, who pays for that? Big business doesn’t pay for these things, they pass the buck.

So tell the middle class folks your doing good, you got a rebate and lower taxes! Oh and we stuck it to the rich and powerful too to make you feel good! Sorry you need to pay $3.50 for that 99 cent double cheeseburger, and had to pay $5.90 a gallon of gas to get there, your power bills doubled and your most likely to get laid off soon. But hey we stuck it to em for YOU!

    Now go get em

Oh, by the way we had to cancel your free helth care because we just cant tax anymore people to pay for it for a few years… but the next democrat will do it for you, just keep holding your hand out and hope, believe and follow the dream.

“The tax breaks for Obama are one time rebate checks for the low and middle class..” I may be mistaken but I believe you are refering to the $1,000 rebate to help people w/ energy costs (which have skyrocketed because of Bush/Cheney’s crooked energy policy). That’s separate from the tax cuts.

“Oh and we stuck it to the rich and powerful too to make you feel good! ” Obama’s plan simply rolls back the tax breaks Bush gave to the very rich.

“Second, While the people are getting a rebate, Obama is going to rape Investors, big business, small business, who pays for that?”
“98.1% percent of small-business filers have income too low to be subject to either of the top two tax rates. Since the floor of these is below $250,000, then 98.1% of small business filers will not see any increase with Obamas plan. ” (http://www.cbpp.org/8-29-08tax.htm)

” Sorry you need to pay $3.50 for that 99 cent double cheeseburger, and had to pay $5.90 a gallon of gas to get there, your power bills doubled and your most likely to get laid off soon. ” Sounds exactly like how the economy is RIGHT NOW because of Bush’s failed economic policies.

“Oh, by the way we had to cancel your free health care because we just cant tax anymore people to pay for it for a few years… ” McCain’s health care “plan” would actually increase taxes. Also, as I understand it, he will also tax the $5,000 health credit for families.

Well i’m convinced, i’ll vote for incompetant facists like bush/cheney rather than suffer like I did under Bill Clinton.

Anyone who lived thru the last 30 years and think the last 8 years of bush was better for the US or most of it’s citizen than 8 years of Bill Clinton must be using a different yardstick than the rest of the country. Anyone who thinks the last 8 years beat out bill clintons 2 terms should vote twice for McCain, maybe it can help.

How about we let the republican’s pay the $10 trillion of debt run up under Republican presidents, Reagan, Bush 1, Bush 2 and the democrats can pay the the $2 trillion run up under all the democratic presidents and all republicans upto Gerry Ford.

Would it be ok if Obama just adds a trillion in debt every year to give away to his supporters instead of raising taxes? That is the republican way, right? Cut taxes, raise spending, give deals to halliburton on my credit card?

EXACTLY! I’m starting to think that it’s not so much a matter of issues, but something else rearing it’s ugly head for some folks. I’m stunned at how folks can ignore the state that America is in now due to crazy people like those incharge now.

Clinton left a surplus!!! Bush has eaten that up and a bunch more! That is the real problem not something that Obama did.

Ever wonder why Democratic cities and states suffer so? Look at the biggest democratic state Califonia..m they do swell. Also look at the revenue during the Bush era to Clinton, Bush with lower taxes had a 19% increase in accepted revenue to the gov. Higher taxes dont work.. Im not going to defend the Bush era because I think it was crap to, but I sure dont need it to go completely to hell with Obama.. People that listen to the media, people that are poor and expect a handout, people that believe they shoudnt need to work, and the people who have no idea about things are the prey of the democratic party.

Clinton promised everything Obama promises in his new :change:, well I guess a second time around may work, other than were broke now.

    >>>allfreechips>>> mate, no offense, but you are so full of shit, i don’t even know where to start with you.

if you seriously believe that palin is a better choice, then you must be living in some virtual reality world. let me tell you a russian joke on this topic:

a kid asks his father – “daddy, what is virtual reality”…father happens to be a programmer and scratches his head going “wtf”. but he asks his kid:

“son, go ask your mom if she’ll sleep with our neighbour (old dude) for a million $”, his son comes back and says “yes, mom said she’ll do it”

then the father asks his son to go ask his sister whether she’ll do the same, the son comes back saying “yes daddy, she’ll do it too”

then father asks his son to go ask his grandfather whether he’ll have sex with the old dude neighbour. son comes back saying “daddy, even grandfather said that he’ll do it”

so virtually, said the father, we are millionaires. in reality we got 2 prostitutes and a fagot.

this is not supposed to offend anyone. just a perspective. however, if mccain wins i’m giving up on america. full stop.

I love how every election republicans claim they will lower taxes while at the same time increasing military spending and military action. That’s just great if you have shares in Halliburton. But forbid it if the word that is respected all over the world ‘socialism’ is thrown in then everything is going to hell. The USA cant afford to offer health care or to protect the environment, but they can afford creating weapons of mass destruction and endless wars. All this while ‘lowering taxes’.

If you increase spending you cant lower taxes. I think I learned that in grade 2 math. It sounds like the Republican plan is to lower taxes some more so that the debt can increase for future generations.

    Hers are the FACTS:

When George W Bush took Office we had budget SURPLUS. Thats was after an 8 year run with a Democrat as President.

Our current Budget DEFICIT as reported by the Government Accounting Office:

    Quote:
On 30 September 2008, the total U.S. federal debt passed the $10 trillion mark, for the first time[2], with about $32,895 per capita (that is, per U.S. resident). Of this amount, debt held by the public was roughly $5.3 trillion.[3] Adding unfunded Medicaid, Social Security, Medicare, and similar obligations, this figure rises to a total of $59.1 trillion, or $516,348 per household.[4] In 2007, the public debt was 36.9 percent of GDP [5], with a total debt of 65.5 percent of GDP.[6] The CIA ranked the total percentage as 26th in the world.[7]

A sound economy? George Bush thought so, up until a month ago John McCain said so too. Now you two Republicans are going to tell me the country is in better hands financially under a Republican Administration?????

Did we NEED a 750 Billion Bail Out of Wall Street under any Democratic President?
Who is President NOW. Who’s watch did this happen on and why in gods name do you refuse to hold him responsible?

Is Obama responsible for the utter destruction on Wall Street and within our financial system? You would like to believe so right?

Did we have huge bank failures under the Clinton Administration? Or the Republicans?

Did we have a mortgage crisis while a Democratic President sat in the White House?

Did foreclosures reach an all time high under the Democrats and Clinton or the Republicans and George Bush?

Did home values drop by the highest percentage in history under Democratic President Bill Clinton or Republican George W Bush?

Did Gasoline TRIPLE in price under the eight years of Bill Clinton as President or GEORGE W BUSH and the Republicans?

Did unemployment reach an all time high under the Democrats and Bill Clinton or the Republicans and GEORGE W BUSH. Based on this data who creates MORE jobs for Americans?

Small business FAILURES and Bankruptices are at an all time high, just look around your community and tell me this isnt true. Look at stock Values and 401K values and tell me this isnt true.

You prefer a small town mayor (population 6500) with only two years experience as the Governer of our least populated state to sit in the White House over a man with 35 years of experience and head of the Senate Foriegn Relations committee. WTF?????

Other then the absolute bullshit you are fed by far right wing extremists do you see or hear ANYTHING around you? Do facts or reality matter in the least bit or is all some sort of game where opinions erase facts?

My God what would it take to get you extremist right wingers to open your eyes? You are NOT real Republicans. The party as it sits now is an abomination controlled by special interest money and brain washers. Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Regan must be rolling over in their graves. Those were Republicans. Not the thieves we see now masquerading as Republicans.

You want more? There are mountains of real data and facts to cite but you arent going change no matter what. This is a cult like mentality and you will drink ANY Kool Aid the Right Wing Brain Washers serve up no matter how vile.

    What a damned shame.

Don’t quite follow your line Splinter.

For G$&s Sake Lou, would you stop equivacating, painting a smiley face on everything and tell us what you really think? I just wish you would stop hinting around and tell if you’re for Obama or McCain!

    LOL

It sounds like the Republican plan is to lower taxes some more so that the debt can increase for future generations.

Well i’ve been saying that since Reagan, they run on fiscal responsiblity, cut taxes, raise spending, pay off their constituents with big government contracts. The real goal was/is to bankrupt the government to ensure that there will never be money for the social programs they hate.

$10 trillion of republican debt at 5% a year represents $500 billion in interest payments, as much as is being spent on military for 2009. $10,000 of tuition for the 20 million 18-22 year olds = $200 billion a year. tax credit of $1000 a year for every man woman and child in america would eat the other $300 billion. These liars claim they want to give money back to the people and let them spend it? Bullcrap, pay me and every american back the $35,000 that these thieve’s stole over the last 25-30 years. Tax cuts to the richest people, borrow money to spend on military products, by the companies who’s stock was bought with the tax cuts. Then when it’s time to cash out, lower capital gains to 10% so they don’t pay any profit on the gain and the government goes deeper in debt. and on, and on, and on. Give McCain 4 years watch another $2-3 trillion go to rich republicans and see the cuts from everything and anyone else.
