Good point. I love London and it’s a direct flight all the way from Denver right into Heathrow for me so that is always a good thing.
I love to fly everywhere I go, but those international flights are killer when they are over 8 hours and you are back on the plane four days later. LOL

haha, unfortunately my friend found out the hard way to the tune of 460 euros the first night. They are extremely agressive and flirty but I don’t like talking to them knowing they try this. It hasn’t happened to me and I’m not their client.
As for the new city concept it’s never a bad idea in my opinion. I mean if you go back to Barcelona you have already saw the tourist aspect of it. I think places like London can and should be staple events but for replacing Barcelona I think it is a good idea.
Hey John ,If you are available next week let’s go out ,I promise to frisk you LOL

Just curious…any other countries you guys would like a conference to be held at? I personally like the idea of going somewhere new every year.
I would love to go somewhere new and interesting each year.
I’m actually glad Barcelona is off the list now — after being there twice, I wasn’t planning to return next year if the event was in Barcelona.
Actually I’ll probably skip London this year, too, since I’ve been there twice, and since it is so cold there in January. Move the London event to spring or summer and I think it would be more attractive…
I’d like to do Sydney and Amsterdam (never been to either of those cities), and I’d LOVE an annual Vegas or Miami-based event. The question is, would anyone who isn’t a U.S. based affiliate actually show up? Maybe schedule it when there is a Webmaster World conference in Vegas or something… :wink-wink
I think at this point, CAP may be able to be the one to set the schedule, instead of piggybacking on other events that have already been planned. These other events (EIG, ICE, etc) always seem to be timed inconveniently, or when the weather doesn’t make any sense. e.g. London in January… I’d rather visit warm places in the winter and cool places in the summer.
A few ideas: Cape Town, Israel, Canada, Sweden, Germany… in addition to London, Australia, and wherever the Spring Break is held.

biggygMemberI agree with you that the timing and weather should be a factor .I can’t imagine how the South Africans manage to survive a London winter trip.Bad enough for the people who HAVE to live there lol.We live in CANADA so wouldn’t recommend us for winter events either. There should be a temperature restriction on these events :cappy:

ClubContMemberyou can frisk, just don’t be diggin for gold lol. Next week maybe, 2 weeks might be better. My next 10 days involve waking up, computer & work, then going to sleep. Doesn’t sound nice but lots going on now but for sure.
Yes London is an easy flight for me as well and most people. I think we need a thread on best ways to past the time on a plane. Also need a thread on new places to go.

I will do first class if my AmEx rewards points can swing it.
I love to fly, but the problem is that I feel like I’m still flying a couple days AFTER the trip when the flight is 14 hours (in my case).October 1, 2008 at 8:46 pm #780576
cybersportsMemberi watched 3 movies on the way back! for some reason it was tougher to fall asleep on the way back home then on the way to the conference…
by the way what do you think of Monte Carlo or Monaco?:wink-wink
October 1, 2008 at 8:59 pm #780578Anonymous
InactiveMonte Carlo and Monaco are top rate and all will love them, but I hear they are outrageously expensive.

how about greece or italy or germany or france or ?
France is WAY too expensive and also have pickpockets etc.
Greece is gorgeous too, however they also have pickpockets. Not as bad as Barcelona or Paris, but they are still there.. The only difference with Greece is that you can spot who they are.Greece would be great for the parties though… especially glyfatha beach. When I was there last year I saw Flow Rida and T-Pain at a club, way before they were famous.. They DJd for the night. It was by far the best club I’ve been to in my life..
Italy, as far as I know, also has a lot of crime and pickpockets.. Not so sure about Germany, but if Oktoberfest is on during that time, I think it’s going to be hard to find accom etc.
