InactiveAnother suggestion, what about Debrovnic? Ive heard good things about the place (plus it would give me another good excuse to visit my family in Zagreb)…
Or Poland?

YoungT.jrMember1st off, kudos to the CAP and EiG teams for putting together a super event. Now with that out of the way and jet lag aside….
As I was one of the unfortunate ones to be attacked in Porte Olympica (sp?) following the jam packed party (that was awsome!), and also happy to have enough energy to open up some whoop ass on those sorry %$#%@ kids and dart to the cab after being struck in the knee with a pipe, I will not miss Barcelona and the lack of police presence (but they sure can break up a poker game). Beautiful venue but…
What about Vienna, Rome, Tuscany (can someone say Chianti?), Munich (Cap Ocktoberfest?). I agree and vote for warm, sunny and a bit more hospitable. Of course a long shot on Vegas would be the nuts of all CAP events…
Anywhere but Barce is a good venue IMHO. Carribean? Costa Rica?

InactiveWell I got mugged for the first time in my life in Barceola so it will hold a special place in my memory for the wrong reasons. On the other hand it is a stunning place but after three conferences I think I have seen enough of it for a while.
It was great meeting you guys again although 3 consecutive nights boozing is getting too hard these days. :shots:
My vote would be for CAP Oktoberfest, I’m always having too choose between Cap Barcelona and Oktoberfest so having them together would be awesome.:cheers:October 2, 2008 at 12:53 am #780611
YoungT.jrMemberJa! Ja! Munchen und Oktoberfest! The place would never be the same after we got a hold of it!

InactiveIt rocks but you have to book some 10 months ahead! It’s almost impossible to find rooms later.

InactiveIs germany expensive?
Cost is a huge part of sending us aff managers to these conferences too.. so the more expensive it is, the less likely some of us will be there…
Also, remember that a lot of us have to fly half way around the world, and pay double for our plane tickets than a lot of the people who already live in or close to europe, so the cost of ‘living’ where the actual conference is being held makes a huge difference too..I believe Budapest hasn’t changed over to the Euro yet, so maybe that would be a good place to go before it gets expensive…
Bahamas sound great too..

Inactiveif you are looking for warm and sunny then Malta can be a good option. Particularly in September…
can even organize boat cruises to Sicily from there.

biggygMemberI did that cruise and Malta is nice,I have to go back to get some more Glass anyway.I bought some nice vases and plates and wanted this really big bowl -of course the one time i listened to my husband in almost 20 years had to be THAT TIME.He said it was too big to ship , I have the other stuff in my dining area and so many people say that i should have gotten a bowl for the dining table. grrrrrrrrr .Malta definitely nice choice.

InactiveAfter looking at Malta on a map, I realised its smaller than Tasmania..
Are we all going to fit?

biggygMemberIt is 121 sq miles , My fat ass fit there so I am sure you will be fine Renee!

InactiveI personally don’t care about the weather, i live where it’s cold in the winter and hot in the summer, germany in fall or italy or france or denmark are all good.
I personally would like to spend more time in germany, we could do Berlin or another place beside munich during oktoberfest and possibly get a good deal on rooms. I love the beer in Dusseldorf, i’m sure i’ll love it in Berlin too.
Bigger cities are easier, cheaper to get to.

InactiveCape Town all the way man!! There are so many from there it would totally rock! Okok then after that I say… Malta or Germany would be cool if there wasn’t the problem of competing with October fest that would be too much I think. The rest of Greek Islands and Cyprus are also part of Eastern Mediterranean.Crete (Kriti) is AMAZING. My favourite Greek island, HOWEVER… for parties, I would suggest not. It is very relaxing and touristy… the most amazing beach I’ve been to was in Crete in a place called Fallasarna, but I would say the night life there wouldn’t be big enough for one of our parties… not hectic enough.. Glyfatha beach in Athens would be much more suited.
Cyclades is not an island, but is the general name for the greek islands (mykonos, santorini etc).
Lesbos is known as Mitilini in Greece… If you go to Greece and ask for a ticket to Lesbos they will have no idea what you’re talking about

This is all very exciting

Europe has won my heart I think… I can’t wait to get back there, and hopefully it will be with everyone from CAP :inlove: -
